music today is either sold by girls flaunting thier bodies.heartache,or gangsta culture
but the sixties had its own fair share of shit going on ,hell what was john lennon singing about, but i think it had a more peaceful undertone than the fired up music of today
there is no respect today and music mirrors this
one good up and coming band thoughRAZORLIGHT with his moves he reminds me of a young mick jagger
    right on

Personally I don't know what the hell you guys are talking about really. Good music is gone...? I suppose it is true that some of the most influential and ground breaking bands are now dead, or should be. But look at all the bands we ahve know. Anything from The New Deal to Mandy Moore. From Radiohead to moe. come on the bands alive now are close to being better because they learned from those bands that aren't around anymore. Life changing, and so the musci follows.

My opinion about how music has aged would be that alot of bands nowadays have differnt things like computers that can fix there mistakes electronicaly, everyone wants the golry of being the best "artist" but no one wants to make the effort.

Gomez, You Am I, Primal Scream, Supergrass, Brian Johestown Massacre, Fountains Of Wayne, Macha, Litmus, Steve Earl, Joss Stone, Flaming Lips, Polyphonic Spree, The Greenhornes, Beck, Nekromantix, The Black Keys, White Stripes, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, to name but a few. But what do I know. I'm just an old hippie.
When progressive rock hit on FM in '67 it was just top 40 on AM. Some good stuff lots of formulaic crap. The local FM station played classical all day. Just 3 hours in the evening to catch the Dead, Jefferson, Doors, etc.
The good music is always around. You've just gotta look for it.

I am allowed to comment on how I "perceive" your intelligence?
Don't blame an entire generation because you raised kids who listen to shitty music.
Thanks for the lesson in etiquette. But until you admit that there is plenty of good music released neither sold through girls' bodies, gansta-lifestyle, and emo-kids, I'm going to stand by this:

    You're still a moron.

Please man.. does anyone know bands like Ash Ra Tempel, Hawkwind, Gong, Comus, CAN, Faust, Gong, Brainticket... I cant be the only one.. those are all bands from late 60's in the psychedelic scene... Brainticket's "cottonwoodhill" album is known to be the MOST psychedelic album ever... they made this album off bad trips.. And Ash Ra Tempel recorded a few with Timothy Leary... Man, You really must check these guys out if you like psychedelia and progressive a bit
