Well, I can tell you that we are fun campers! I can't wait.

But exciting news...We're heading out TOMORROW MORNING! We'll be staying the night in Bend and then heading in around the next day evening time after messing around Crater Lake. Thought we'd take our time, explore, and give Moire some time each day to stretch her limbs and explore.

Tara's got my cell number. So if you guys don't hear from us by 9 pm Friday, give a shout!

I'm heading out the door right now. I'll be going south on I-5, taking my time, want to get about halfway there today, at least to Roseburg. I plan to arrive sometime tomorrow evening. See Ya!

Yeah, I just got off the phone with Holly (Hippyfreek) who was VERY upset. It's difficult enough to travel with a baby that far just for it to be a hoax? I'd like to ring Steffan's neck right now. With the prices of gas and lodging, this has been tough on our wallet. Well, Steffan, I hope you're getting a good laugh. Because when I get ahold of you, I'll make sure you never laugh again!

Now it's after 7pm and Holly's gonna try to make her way back to Eugene to meet up with Tarabelle. Luckily, we got ahold of Tarabelle while she was still in Portland. I'll see if I can reach anyone else.

Wow. Just, wow. I'd actually forgotten the get together was to be this weekend. Now I'm glad I did. Gas is too pricey these days to waste on someone's idea of a joke. Sorry for all you folks who got hosed on this.

 

I wasn't able to respond to this further until this time in the morning as I'm writing from a motel lobby's computer. I'm glad I was at least able to get the message out, save some people the trip and save that old lady from being bothered so much. I guess we're the victim of a sick internet prankster, which is a kind way of referring to him.

This was supposed to be the first leg of my vacation, after which I was to head up highway 97 and check out some mountain lakes and caves. Now I'll have to head out this morning. It's not a total loss for me, but it sucks none the less.

I don't know when I'll be able to check back in again. If I can get to a computer in a motel or a coffeeshop you'll hear more from me.

 

oh wow.. oh wow!!! sorry guys!! i had such guilt about not going, especially after i got emails from steffan telling me he was upset that he wouldn't be able to meet me now

Any of you ever get out this way we both have standing invitations for any and all to stop by and visit.
Private property, because of the laws about gatherings are often the best place to have gatherings - but I guess you all have a prime example how you must look before you leap - both of us have had visitors and a long history on these forums.

Please don't give up on gathering because of 1 bad apple - it does not have to spoil the barrel.

I'm back. I'm pissed off, and I'm about ready to kill.

I almost want to sue for all of this...But it's my idiotic fault for falling for this shit. Absolutely bullshit, I tell ya...

We travelled about 500 fucking miles WITH A TWO MONTH OLD on a tight-ass budget to meet up with friends and all we found was an upset old lady, her puzzled care-taker, and the dusty tracks of Steffan scrambling out of town. The lady said she heard from through the grapevine that he was getting rid of his stuff, selling his land, and getting out of town. Grr. Fucking Grr.

I'm so sorry to everyone inconvenienced by this horrible prank. Next year, let's try this again. But let's instill some rules: TWO contact persons, 2-3 contact phone numbers, and the VERBAL/WRITTEN okay of the property owner, or for it to be held on public property.

 

Damn--I almost drove down too.If anyone's on the road from that debacle and needs a place to shower and rest up on the way home--pm or email me and you won't have to pay for a motel.And babies are welcome,hippyfreak.I'm in Springfield.
