Computer scientists unveil novel attacks on cybersecurity (msn.com)

Its official, Microsoft is no longer the devil, because all our computers are fucked for security. Screwed, chewed, and barbequed, and there's no fucking way to replace them all overnight.

That means we require some sort of cheap interface with the internet, something that fits on a thumb drive. At least, that would be my guess. Every fucking chip made by Intel and AMD, and who knows who else, is now transparent to hackers.

Sadly, its already possible to put an optical computer on a thumb drive, that's a million times faster than your laptop.

This kind of study makes it clear that countries like China could easily hack the US for the next thousand years. The idiots have been stuck with using silicon, with serious physical limitations, and have been doling out technology to public as slowly as possible, gouging them for money, making it easy for hackers to destroy the entire world economy.

The Pentagon will either cough up the technology we require for security, or other people will.

FYI, the Pentagon has had quantum encrypted cellphones and laptops for 20 years. The Tea Party is prepared to drive the entire country back into the stone age, if we survive WWIII.

Everybody's getting hacked, including Sony, so you will soon be able to use Steam Linux, and pirate downloads, simply because its pointless to install Windows. At this rate, the only way to secure the internet, is to run a virtual operating system. It would be nice, if someone could crunch the numbers for a nice algorithm to produce a hardwired chip for it. It would be a scalar design, like all of them, and faster the more transistors it has. The latest research in graphics and optics, suggest even using a virtual operating system, you can hardwire so much of the circuitry, that its much faster than laptops today.

Windows is for Business, and they're being investigated for possible treason. Business, sold the Pentagon and national security down the river, about fifteen years ago.

There has been viruses and malware since before Windows, since before Microsoft existed, and there has always been common sense ways to protect your data. Everyone's such a tool about Microsoft security updates. "Oh no! Microsoft's ending support for my Windows." Good, are they going to stop nagging me to update too? The vast majority of updates are to protect THEIR interests and agendas, the crap they're always trying to to sign you up for. Nobody has a gun to your back telling you to jump on Windows 12 when it releases. It's your stupid decision, they are counting on you to make STUPID DECISIONS! Your web browser security AND HABITS are more important than your OS. Banks are still running Windows XP on their machines because it's tried and true and they have their own security and firewalls. Jumping on the latest buggy unproven OS is about the dumbest move you can make. Especial if your putting all your trust in their online account storefronts and cloud storage virtual digital garbage services.

    Dont use MS?

Dont get me wrong im a lazy gamer(still run win10)..........but if you use any of the big tech company s..........goverment........you are basicly tracked/registered to the max (anonymous or not).

It is more what they do with the data and how far they mine(commerce)your data(user agreement). And how well they(goverment/commerce) secure it *sigh*

    Dont be paranoid.......................just evolution:D

Until recently, PC gamers had no choice, but to use windows while, now, the newest qualcom chips coming on the market can simply emulate any windows game in hardware. Microsoft is pumping money into Linux and buying up video games trying to dominate the market, knowing that AI are about to make ordinary interfaces obsolete. Already, if you want, you can use an AI to create your own interface, and one AMD's graphics cards decides for itself how to run any video game. Once we have the AI sorted out, it could easily replace half the transistors in your laptop with more efficient circuitry.

Does anyone remember how secure Computers were before the Internet? Sure we had some viruses that got released via shareware, but without an Internet connection there wasn't much they could do except maybe lockup your computer and ask for a ransom.

Maybe that's the answer. Instead of everything hooked up to everything else, we should go back to having to our computers disconnected from other computers, except in LANs.

Then again, we can just wait for the inevitable EM Pulse attacks that will cause all electronics to stop functioning. Then we won't need to worry anymore about anything electronic.

This is why banks cannot send you an email.
Although their LAN's are WAN's, they still avoid the electronic switching. Someone has to physically connect a wire.

Some people hurl rocks at the truth, but most just run for a sand bucket to bury their head in.

Just calling it like I see it. If I'm not looking at signs of paranoid schizophrenia, IDK what I'm looking at.

My banks stopped doing the email verifications now. Gotta have a phone. If that's the reason, cause they've disconnected from the Internet at some level, that's more security.

I'm sure banks are more paranoid than ever about hackers.
The banks can still send you emails, but not for online verifcations like before.
I noticed smaller banks are taking longer to stop the email verifcations.
They all want you to use two step validation now. Password online and code sent to your phone.

BTW, this has driven me crazy the last year because I don't have a US phone # atm, so I've been unable to get online with one bank at all this year.

Some banks do have an email system to contact customers, but they have strict rules about not revealing personal details or the accounts that you hold. The system is totally separate from their internal LAN based accounts, so when connecting you the staff members have 2 computers on their desks.
Staff using email have special security training and are regularly audited.

Biggest problem is Smartphones/cars/kitchen stuf/doorbells/ect(everybody) being online and easy to hack, nobody secures them(pc masterrace ;))..........and most of society(west/world) runs/depends on the interwebz(goverment/commerce/ect)..........*sigh*

Most people are so naive about the internet and how depended we are or getting(society/goverment/finance/ect)...............what if there is no interwebz:D

Consumer electronics are all based on military technology, and the biggest problem right now is that the Tea Party has been running the Pentagon for over fifteen years. At the rate Russia and China are going, corruption in the industry will be the least of anyone's problems. The fucking Tea Party sold our national security to the Chinese, fifteen years ago, and the result is that Nvidia and Intel are both still doing business with them. China looks more prepared than ever, to invade Taijuan, while Russia is stockpiling for WWIII, with China supplying both Russia and the Ukraine.

Now, everybody is getting hacked, and all our computers are wide open to attack. These days, you have to flip a coin to decide whether its war, or a hostile corporate takeover, and which is worse.

If Americans ever had anything remotely resembling real politics, you can rest assured it is buried next to Jimmy Hoffa.

Google literally moved into the Pentagon to build an advanced AI, and the Pentagon normally might as well live at Google and do a lot of their work for them. Call it politics, corporate insanity, or WWIII, but the shit just keeps hitting the fan harder!

Earth is no longer enough, the billionaires paved paradise, and Mars is next!
