A recent MRI of my brain showed White Matter Disease, a progressive and incurable process that results in: Trouble learning or remembering new things A hard time with problem solving Slowed thinking Depression Problems walking Balance issues and more falls
Keep blood pressure down (mine's borderline), minimize alcohol use, keep cholesterol down (mine's normal), keep blood sugar down (I'm not diabetic); refrain from further micro-strokes and abstain from further head injuries. Best advice is to continue with blood pressure meds, continue to use a cane, and do physical therapy to maintain balance and minimize falls. I'm doing that already for an arthritic hip. Therefore, little in the way of actionable advice. Trying to get a coherent prognosis from a doctor's like trying to get a straight answer from a politician.
