Yesterday I took 8mg suboxone over the course of a few hours. I started with 1mg and then wasn't getting a satisfying high so I kept taking more. I guess I have an opiate tolerance but I'm not currently addicted. I won't go into withdrawal. The suboxone felt like I was high and not high at the same time if that makes any sense. It also made me hyper. When it was getting late I took my anti-depressent (amitriptyline, which I've been taking for years) and about 20 minutes later I started nodding out hardcore. I could barely keep my eyes open. My girlfriend told me to go to sleep and I knocked out. It actually freaked out my girlfriend and the next morning she was telling me I looked crazy and to stop taking antidepressents. She didn't know about the sub. Can someone explain why I went from being hyper to nodding the fuck out in 20 minutes? I know my antidepressent has some sedative properties but it's not a like a benzo or anything. I'm also slightly worried that I was close to od-ing? I didn't even feel high, just hyper but after the antidepressent I could barely keep my eyes open.
You're right. I checked a site that lists contraindications and it says taken together those to drugs can magnify the sleepiness, dizziness, etc. It was just so bizarre since I went from being hyper to nodding. I guess suboxone is weird like that.
Mixing drugs can have weird results. It can sometimes be a case of 1 plus 1 not equaling 2, but maybe 4.....or 10. I've been known to forget that myself sometimes, such as a week ago when I was drinking beer and took some Xannies.
