gas string trimmer... Also known as a weed eater, which is actually a brand name so technically the wrong term if talking about a different brand...
I promise I'm not f****** with you but the truth is that a weed wacker is somebody that will masturbate on cannabis
the phrase 'whipper snapper' has a traditional meaning, at least in the u.s., referring to a young person who has yet to learn or experience, that authority comes with responsibility. that carefree innocence, is not always safe or harmless. so the less 'romantic' term is by far the more logical, for what is, after all, a not particularly romantic piece of machinery. where i come from we call them the even simpler term of 'string trimmer', which if i recall correctly, is what they're sold as. i guess humor, a pratfall name for a common object, so i guess that stands logic on its head or something. in this case an object probably more common then it needs to be. a manually pushed freely rotating sharpened star wheel on the end of a stick long enough to not have to bend over, does just as well the job of edging vegitation next to a sidewalk. without consuming fossil fuel or energy produced by it. the other useful job one of these things to, is just as quickly and easily, perhaps even easier, by a pair of long handled pruning sheers. with again long enough to avoid the thorns and not have to bend over.
