Truth is neither hot nor cold. Ignorance makes you dumb, not cannabis. Laziness exists independantly of cannabis. I'm not fooling myself if i disagree with you. Your rehab has fooled you! You've been brainwashed again. You're only mad coz you got caught, which was probably your fault. Don't take out your anger on cannabis or its users, take it out on yourself or against the laws that put you in rehab. There are plenty of reasons why cannabis is illegal but that doesn't mean they are justified. It was made illegal by Harry anslinger in 1937 because he said and i quote: 'marijuana makes white women seek relations with negroes' You can believe the reefer madness propaganda all you want but I and a lot of people here are laughing at you. Who are you or anyone to tell me what autonomous decisions i can make if i'm not harming anyone? The laws are meant to protect people, that law protects no one, only ruins lives of other wise law abiding non violent tax paying contributers of society. The only reason to restrict someone's liberty, against their will, is to prevent harm to others. You probably don't even know what that means mr intelligent

Repsect is earned, you won't get respect by coming on a pro cannabis forum and slandering us, calling us: 'lazy and dumb' Fuck you and your patronising. Go suck your consellours dick you hairspray smoking bomba clat.

well, i can see where you come from. i didn't get high all the time but my head definately is a lot clearer. but to me its like with alcohol, if you get drunk every night you're crewing yourself over big time. if you have a couple of beers every now and than you'll be fine.

i be trying out my first joint at the end of next week after a six week hiatus to focus on school. during the break i'll keep my drug usage in moderation and I know I will manage, because I know what role I want pot to play in my life, a minor one. after the rbeak i'll quit again.

it's stupid to smoke your life away, but its also stupid to condemn pot because its open for abuse

even if the government can't make too much off a profit on pot, they can still save/make a shit load of money indirectly.

    1) jail
    a) they have to pay for your meals, housing, and jail workers when you're locked up, keeping non-violent people out of jail means less meals, less housing (aka less prisons being built) and less jail workers to be employed.
    b) if you're in jail, you aren't paying taxes, which means they're losing more money. sure you can get a minimum wage job (or less) while in jail sometimes, but the more money you make, the more money they get.

    2) rehab- they wouldn't have to fund rehab for fools like yeal if pot were legal/decriminalized.

    3) court fees- less public defenders needed to represent people caught for smoking.

    4) taxes- just because people can grow it doesn't mean they actually will. sure a bunch of potheads will, but some people don't have the money to support expensive lighting and the rest of equipment needed, and others just don't have the time. just like someone said, you can make your own alch. my cousin makes his own beer. but for most people it's just too much of a hassle, and you also need skill. growing good pot takes skill, and knowledge. which is easier: reading tons of text to grow a plant which may not produce good bud if you don't do it right, or running down to the gas station to pick up an ounce? and they can still tax the shit out of it.

    5) more jobs- just like there's tobacco plantations, there can also be pot plantations, and people will need to operate them.

damn, i'm on a roll. but someone will probably shoot me down with a negative to all my reasons, oh well.

^ maybe. there's still no way to regulate street deals, which i think would still be dominant for a couple years after legalization took place.

i think eventually though, most pot would be sold through specialty stores for high quality stuff, or gas stations for mids in the form of "marlboro greens" and such.

my lover and i trade massage for weed. we get it directly from the grower (i KNOW he doesn't spray it with nasty hairspray, and LOL at the fucking harmful UV lights comment). so i guess you could say we get it pretty much for free-ish. :)

and i'm talking about being back on weed, after a 2 year hiatus. they were some of the most crazy, fucked up, difficult years of my life. i'm a much nicer, happier person when i smoke weed regularly. i can actually deal with life, and people, and i don't get as caught in the bullshit way we're "supposed to be" by society's standards.

I'm not going to "shoot your comment down" or anything, but you have to realize this; jail is just like any other big business. Jails keep hundreds of thousands of non-violent people, just like you and me cooped up indefinitely. During this period of captivity, you're forced to work for minuscule, pointlessly small amounts of money. They'll make you do publicized jobs like cleaning up the side of the highway or some bullshit like that. And while they parade you around, it makes the people in charge of the prison look like saints for reforming "dangerous criminals" in productive members of society. The bottom line is, the more people in prison, the more money the prison makes.

It's sad that there are people who feel that they have the right to force they're own ideals and beliefs down the throats of the average daily stoner. It's even sadder that these people profit from the belief that they are some how better then someone who just happens to smoke weed. Record arrests for weed, and they just sit and watch sippin' on their fine liqueur.

OP, there is a reason marijuana is illegal.
    that reason is not good.
and making marijuana illegal was and is agaisnt the US Constitution.
here the the USA the founding fathers created this country so we could do whatever we want, it does not matter if it is good or bad for you. it is your choice not the governments on how you want to handle drugs or any other thing.

" A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and goes to bed at night and in between does what he wants to do."

i don't believe jails force you to work, hell if you've done something really terrible you aren't even allowed to. i think workings a privledge in jail, and you have to earn the right to be able to go do shit.

jails aren't in it for the profit though, i can assure you that.
