I like the new art. Of course I liked the previous art as well... I think experimenting by switching up styles can be a unique facet of this series. Well done. :)

Thanks :) I've slightly edited the latest page because Pete had a right hand on his left arm :S I've also slightly broadened his shoulders (though they need more broadening to be honest).

Perhaps altering his body dimensions to fit a situation... broader shoulders and flat stomach when the girl is around?

I like the peripheral details. Perhaps disguised as strewn toys you can play out a mini ambulance rescue of an action figure in the background frame by frame while your main characters fluster their way through the requisite awkwardness that awaits them in the unfolding drama.

Oh man - that's actually really good! :D both the ideas hehe. I'll try fit in the action figure/ambulance thing in the coming comics. I've written the next four pages of the comic actually...I'll try draw them in the coming days/weeks. Also, I just spent an hour or so writing more of the plot for the comic. I must say that I quite like it so far :D

PS. The previous comic was having a go at another guy's comic (a really good comic) because people kept saying Pete looked far too much like the other guy's main character :p

Well, seeing as I've just read this thread from start to finish, I should probably leave a note of some description.

mmmm...I say the first comic a while back and I'm sorry to say that I was not compelled to return. As others have already pointed out, the characters had very little depth and it just felt like it was being rushed.

However, I am glad that I returned. Everything about the comic has improved immensely, from the artwork to my ability to recognise the characters as 'real' people. The humour is not too over the top and there is plenty of stuff happening in the artwork to keep my eyes interested in the scenes.

I like it. A lot. Good job. I'll be back.

Thanks for that. Yeah, like I said - the earlier strips WERE rushed. Just wondering, but is there anything I could do to fix them up? I really don't want to have that initial unappeal to my comic. I guess I could always redraw the earlier ones, but I'm guessing it's more a lack of a plot that's the problem there.

The extra time you're taking to craft each frame is paying dividends in quality.

I don't really know. Perhaps, Pete could share some scenes from his shitty day at work or something, thus giving us a little more info about him. Also, he seems to go round to his mate's house for no apparent reason other than to be knocked sideways by the door. A few more details in the dialogue during that first meeting could give us more of an insight than just revealing that one guy is gay.

Anyway, it's good stuff now. Keep it up.:)

Hmm...You give me an idea...The first page - I could very easily add a speech bubble to that, having him thinking about his day and such. Not sure what he'd say though... I doubt I've made it clear, but the two guys actually live in the same block of apartments, but not in the same apartment.

Anyway, I've written up to Page 27 now. It's about to get pretty interesting. I've written a bit past that too, but not as clearly. Yay.

Oh and by the way - the comic is called Earl Grey Penitentiary now for the following reasons (this is from my site):

And can I please give the link to my site? It's not exactly spam is it?

I think it's a good name and in the context of this topic I think furnishing the link would be ok. Is it the same site accessible from the drop-down from your username by clicking "Visit *Andy*'s homepage!"?
