now we're two hangmen hanging from a tree but that don't bother me

    Two Hangmen

    by Mason Proffit

    album:

As I rode into Tombstone on my horse whose name was MacI saw what I relate to you goin' on behind my backIt seems the folks were up in arms a man now had to dieFor believin' things that didn't fit the laws they'd set asideThe man's name was I'm a freak the best that I could seeHe was an executioner a hangman just like meI guess that he'd seen loopholes from workin' with his ropeHe'd hung the wrong man many times so now he turned to hopeHe'd talk to all the people from his scaffold in the squareHe told them of the things he found; But they didn't seem to be fairHe said the laws were obsolete, a change they should demandBut the people only walked away, he couldn't understandThe Marshall's name was Uncle Bob he said he'd right this wrongHe'd make the hangman shut his mouth if it took him all year longHe finally arrested Freak and then he sent for meTo hang a fellow hangman from a fellow hangman's treeIt didn't take them long to try him in their court of BLAHHe was guilty then of thinking a crime much worse than allThey sentenced him to die so his seed of thought can't spreadAnd infect the little children; that's what the law had saidSo the hangin' day came 'round and he walked up to the nooseI pulled the lever but before he fell I cut him looseThey called it all conspiracy and that I had to dieSo to close our mouths and kill our minds they hung us side by sideAnd now there's two hangmen hangin' from a tree That don't bother me at all Two hangmen hangin' from a treeThat don't bother me at all

That's the Yin Yang of life Steve, some good some bad.. step right up and take a spin on the Wheel of Fortune, sometimes your the windshield and sometimes your the bug. But it ain't nothin' but a thing. All things pass, change is emement. we are the circle that goes round and round.

Cool, I could grow it where I live. I'm also into building stuff like sheds, housing for my beasts and such. Bamboo might make a good frame for a sweat lodge, 'been thinkin' of doing that for a while now...

...and if it grows as quickly as you say, could make a good source of heat as well. I've looked into those corn stoves BTW, very cool, I haven't looked at buying corn for heating though as far as the cost of gettin corn in bulk like that, but it could work out nicely. I would imagine if one of those things can burn corn it could also burn bamboo, whatd'ya think?

I've also thought of building an outdoor furnace with a large capacity for fuel, like you stoke it up (with wood, corn, bamboo, junk mail *heh heh*) and it burns for days. I'm planning to build a "solar" kitchen addition on to our house, Southern exposure with a nice view of the woods. Lookin' at an open frame, all exposed wood with lots of skylights and windows. When I do that, I could also add the outdoor furnace, and dig a trench for the plumbing to the new kitchen. The beauty of this kitchen I'm designing is it only requires the addition of two walls, I'm essentially closing off a square, and I can just extend the roofline from the existing structure, so it should be a piece of cake, right?...famous last words...

Built a greenhouse with an A-frame shape a few months ago out of old windows I removed when I rebuilt my porch to be more weathertight. It's on the left in the photo below, next to the garden which you can't really see, and a buffet table we use for parties in the summer...

As for the wind power, I think I got it figured out, you probably need to store it as DC in batteries, then use an inverter to pump it back into the grid or to use it in your house. I's an electrical engineer (remember Linal in All in the Family?), so this shit drives me crazy, luckily it's my day off :H Of course, if you buy it in a kit, you needn't worry about the details, but I'd be psyched to figure it out and make it happen, it's probably not too hard, and you could save a lot of money if you design it and build it yourself.

Bamboo, sounds like you have some cool ideas, Steve, as always good to hear you speak your mind, Carol, Earthmother, Shameless, Teepi, Gate, Be well,

Using bamboo for a sweat lodge frame works VERY WELL. I don't expect ours will last more than a couple seasons, 'cause the plastic I covered it with keeps blowing off.

The stuff is VERY flamable! Every time the patch gets cleared out we have a bonfire of bamboo "junk" when it dries, and it goes up like it's got alot of natural oils in it...

There is often too much hype and tripe about this season that is upon us and yet i too fall victim to the mood of love and respect for all man and woman kind that is the message all too often lost in the fog of unbridled consumption that also prevails at this time of year. many thanks voided37 for your reference to the indigenous folks of the world. My Grandmother's people were of that lot and she still spoke many of the words when I was a small child. I hope that all of you find peace this season and may what ever gods or forces you pray to (or none at all if that is your nature) grant you those prayers.

    Amen, Brothah!

...and I can't think of a better explanation of why my father the Philosopher rejected the pursuit of Christianity as a Minister in World War II, after he became disillusioned and alienated, and changed the course of his life as a result...

...but the spirit of Christmas as I see it is about breaking bread with one's fellow man, if only everyone could keep that spirit alive throughout the year...

Ahhh....but the difference. I don't reject the pursuit of Christianity............................or Buddhism, or Islam, or Paganism, or Agnostism or Athieism (would help if i could spell these isms) or anyother ISM. They are all paths that for some people are paths with heart and following that path that for you has heart is all that there is in this world. We all suffer the same beginning and the same end. It is the journey in between that is in our power to change for the better or the worse. Christmas is a special time for me because I see people express hope and emotions that they (we) should show always. If there is a hope in Christmas it is that more people will some day come to believe that too, and show it by their actions to the Earth, life and to all others. Peace to all you great folks and my your journey have heart.

    El Capitain,
That sig, is .. well.. not suited for the Garden, it reaks of the underbelly of loathingness. It gives me the creeps. I see no fun, no humor, or no Light in it at all.
Could you leave it outside when you come in please. Thanks..

Page 8, Spiritual Community Guide[for north america], Copywrite 1972,

    WE ARE ALL ONE!

    ONE PRESENCE-pervades all this
    ONE REALITY-is behind all multiplicity
    ONE LIGHT-penetrates all appearances

Human need demands it, Illumined awareness knows it, Divine love demonstrates it, Vedas declare it, Gurus radiate it

Now is the time for all who know that the Self is ONE to BE THAT and LIVE IT.

THE ESSENCE OF ALL PATHS IS THE DIRECT REALIZATION OF THE ONE EXISTENCE.

THE GOD IN ONE IS THE GOD IN ALL.

ONE UNIVERSAL SPIRIT-Is flowing through us, doing one work, using us all.

We are not individuals, WE ARE THE ONE SPIRIT IN MANIFESTATION.

No one group, no one channel, no one center; can do all the work, receive all the inspiration, or have all the answers for humanity.

ALL must first reach At-one-ment with the Real Self, then full In-tune-ment, and finally, PEACE WITH ONE ANOTHER.

    WE ARE ALL ONE

I can dig it...has anyone here read that old book from the 70's called (i think) "The Road to Damascus," about we all being nothing more than the dreams of the sleeping God...kind of changed my life a long time ago and it kind of echos what Void37 rote above.

Is this the signature? It seem to the point and without malice. This is a tiny little planet and this machine does seem to make it smaller. Am I missing something?

Just wondering. Wanted to stop by and say hello for some time--"Hello". Before the year turns new seems like a good time. I enjoy this thread.
