    They did indeed.

    A threat from whom?
    Protection from crime I'll accept.
    Some taxes are necessary as government produces nothing for profit.
    The FCC regulates usage of the air waves.

    Then just where would you reduce it?

    I think Obama put an end to lobbying, didn't he? What good are large political contributions if they produce no gains?

    So does walking, so why do we need a transportation system?

    Memory can be a good thing. To what use would you like to put those memories?

    Agreed.

    That's one way of looking at it.
    But people still vote, and when a Republican is in office many are dissatisfied, and when a Democrat is in office many are dissatisfied.
    People still TRY to make their opinions heard.
    Politicians often don't listen, unless you happen to be a major contributor.

    Politicians have enough difficulty trying to find ways to produce the revenue required to run the programs they create, without having to listen to constituents complaints.
