got the whole dehydrator full of cured spicy beef

making jerky ..first batch in a long time


this batch is black pepper and garlic seasoned...then i added maggi sauce and liquid smoke with a bit of smoked paprika

 

Hubby says he used to make jerky but that he made so much, and ate so much, that it made his blood pressure high.

He hasn't made any for me.

 

I haven't made any for a while now. Just a pain to cut the huge bits of meat into thin strips.

 

i bought an electric slicer to do that but i still end up using a knife ....easiest way to get them nice and even is to slice it when its still a bit stiff...not completely unfrozen


i use complete eye of round roast...the little lightning shape fat line when you slice against the grain is perfect for jerky

i dont do strips...they are more like steaks

 

I'd wear that now xD

 

I have that God awful contraption that hand slicer. So I'm always scared to use it.

We've decided to knit out own handfasting material into the knotwork myself. So on the weekend I'm going fabric shopping.

I am thinking purple and orange.

the whole hospital thing is really stupid though the fish skins in 4 hours.and sending surgeons out to transport organs is hard to believe they expect people to believe that...i like it most because i see a lot of myself in the stupid shit like batteries and not knowing how to act around people
