Right, so. I have been diagnosed with my back scans and have 3 separate issues going on that aren't fantastic but should be manageable with correct treatments and me taking proper care of myself.

So problem the first, my childhood injury. Xray shows that the bottom of my spine has not formed or developed as it should have. This is mostly the root cause of the problems. This leads into

Problem the second, I now have grade 3 mild - advanced ankylosing spondylitis which showed on the xray with massive amounts of inflammation all in my hips, lower back and spine. From what I'm reading this is a lot to do with arthritic pain. Doctor told me if I don't get the chronic inflammation down then over time my back will just fuse together as it sees no other alternative.

Then my L5 disc is also prolapsing to the left side which is right now I have enormous tummy ache and very sore ovaries is the pain shooting anywhere and everywhere.

So I'm taking all this in but for now she says it's not good but my treatment plan is to see a specialist who will then administer the correct treatments which will mostly be physiotherapy but I need to really be careful how I treat my body from here on out. She says I will most certainly have problems throughout life but at this stage with the correct treatments I should be able to "manage".

So more inflammatory pills I got and pain killers. Stressed to not go to work even if light duty. I'm basically in bed for a week. She said I can't continue with this "nonsense" of just getting on with life, she says I really need rest to get this inflammation down.

Edit: "go see a chiro get a back crack" is the worst option for my problem right now.

 

Dang Irmi! That sounds serious. No...it is serious.

She said the "nonsense" of just getting on with life. That is funny in a real twisted kind of way...but for real you know you have to cut back on riding horses.

But at least you have an idea what you're working with. When are you going to see the specialist that will be recommending treatments?

 

I'll call them tomorrow morning. I was reading a lot on the internet and I guess it's disappointing that I'll have this forever but I just got to keep flexible. At least I won't be hunchback but I'll be the opposite lol if my lower back fuses. So that's my focus, I can't afford for that to happen which means a lot less riding activity for now anyway. So kinda happy it's winter season but I'm going to have to employ a stable hand for next season I feel. Maybe a tall boy with broad shoulders and long hair.

 

And yes the "nonsense" remark I found humerous too, we tend to do this in Deutschland. Like, straight to the point lol. You're talking nonsense. What you're doing is nonsense. It's not meant to come across as rude but it's just blunt and to the point. It is funny that that's the word they use in English. We speak English so the other half understands and she sits there and jots down notes which is cute.
