well, I have a tv now, first time in about 4 years..My wife has gone crazy and has been watching the show "Dexter" which is a serial killer who kills serial killers..it is ok, I am just not in to tv too much..usually I am just watching to see the content, if I can see any hidden symbols, that kind of stuff, but overall it is kinda a bore fest for me and I would rather read I got this data..the top tv watching countries 1. United Kingdom 2. United States 3. Italy 4.Germany 5. France 6. ireland 7.Australia 8. Netherlands 9. Denmark 10.Belgium 11. Norway 12. Sweden 13. Finland No African countries, interesting
I simply cannot watch TV anymore. I am just totally put off by how fake and scripted everything is. It grates on my nerves.
That is how I feel..It is funny how reality shows are nothing like reality and how scripted those shows are..there is just nothing on there I care to watch..I dont like to watch sports either, million dollar men carrying and passing a ball, no way..
You would like dutch public broadcasting I think, Rat. You would of course not appreciate all but definately like the lack of fakeness. The majority of programs on the other channels over here have an abundance of fakery and commercialism that is hard to ignore as well. It nearly always reminds me of american tv programs (which we unfortunately get on our channels a lot as well)
Isn't that a list of more colder places? People that live in warmer countries are outside more? or am I worng again? LOL
id honestly rather watch scat porn that those pathetic homicidal shows. its mind pollution that is worse than porn..
You're wrong I think. The scandinavian countries would be higher up the list then. And Russia would be on it too No I think it has more to do with the government and economy in regards to why there are less people watching tv in most of Africa. Also I doubt they did a reliable survey in countries like Chad or Congo (but it can be based on an educated guess)
I don't care for any tv shows other than American Horror Story. Nothing else interests me. I've kept up with all three seasons- amazing story lines, great acting and directing, and full of suspense. I'd actually get excited if there was a new episode going to be on that week and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen. Season 3 just ended and I can't wait to see what's in store for Season 4.
Antique Road Show, A few nature shows when I can find them, Andy Griffith (seen them all many times), Everyone Loves Raymond sometimes (seen them all), Turner Classic Movies. The news. 12" of snow coming Thursday!
I don't have a television. Well, I sort of do. It's a dust/stuff collector, more than a tv. I paid for cable, once, and turned had it disconnected after a month. I didn't turn the damn box on even once. A lot of people can't stand the thought of being alone with themselves and their thoughts. I know a handful of people who have the television on constantly, as background noise. I just don't understand it.
I can't stand the tv being on for a long time. Watching one show every now and then works for me. If someone constantly has a tv on, it drives me insane!! It's too much noise and I can't think straight with it on. However, I constantly have the computer on, hmmm.. but computer is quiet.
i really don't have time in my life for tv. which may seem odd, for someone blessed with, however modest, a retirement income. there are simply too many other things that interest and gratify me too much more. the main problem with tv, is you're stuck with someone els's idea of a story, vision of a world, and often one motivated by interests other then your own, principally for the purpose of harvesting little green pieces of paper. tv paints what is to me, a bleaker world then either one that awaits every time i walk out the door, even with all its faults, and certainly one less gratifying then the forest home of little furry green things inside my head. some things on there are passable, marginally, but still pointless. and they never address things that interest me in a positive way. so i don't feel like i owe tv the time it would rob from me if i were to become addicted to it. and it is an addiction most people who watch it don't seem to realize they have, nor how it robs what would make them truly human. i would rather spend the time i'm not doing something creative, interacting with the internet, something i fear economic interests wish to rob the internet of being.
More TV bashing typical of you latter-day hippies looking for a cause or something to put down. I love TV and over the last decade I’ve relished such shows as The Shield, The Sopranos, 24, Breaking Bad, Lost, The Wire, Battlestar Galactica, Dexter, Family Guy, Mad Men, Southland, Supernatural, Man VS Wild (W/ Bear Grylls) MXC, Ninja Warrior, Chappelle Show :2thumbsup: Hotwater
I like 4 of those shows a lot. And there are some other shows I like-I mostly like mystery stuff and cooking or food shows like shows with Anthony Boundain but in any case... my view on tv is I can take it or leave it but if I wanna watch a bit of tv so I DON'T have to think all the time, whatever. I actually like reading MUCH more but I have a problem with that... if I read I stay up way too late, don't sleep enough and am a bitch.
