I saw it....it was ok. the part that got me was when michelle phillips started to cry at the end...... I have the original Monterey Pop dvd by D.A. Pennebaker.....so good.....dare I say, but i think it trumps "Woodstock"... you have to appreciate that it was that concert that helped to catapult jimi hendrix, the grateful dead. janis joplin, the Who (and so many more) into international recognition. VH1's rocDoc was ok at best (I think). The original was from the horses mouth.....cant get closer to the truth. And man, the music is sooooo goooood.......
Hey Dolly, good to hear from you. Of course the actual film was better as far as music content goes. You have the movie? See the little dude with flowers in his hair sitting down at the very end? Thats Ric Palmer, a friend of mine I turned onto yoga years ago. Any way, the point of the VH1 rocdoc was the personal commentary and the effect of the LSD use. The oldies like me talking about the gentleness of the day and time, was what I wanted to turn ya'll onto, Dig? Did you get your yoga Sadhana going girl? Thats the new hippie of today. Its permanent, free, non-illegal, and purely fantastic. Want to relive the bliss of the sixties hippies everyone, reach Samadhi/ Peace, love, and flowers, Y.B.
