oh, and i have no things against Christians, i have some really rad christian friends, just i hate it when some of them think their way is the only way, and some make up stupid rules and shit like... you cant listen to Rock&Roll, and wont accept different people.
  5. Urgh, I read the first lines of both articles and had enough.

Nothing against Christianity and stuff, but I can't stand fundamentalists of any sort (whether they are Christian or Hindu or Vegetarian [IMG]).

My Dad once had this little booklet in his letterbox - about superstition and the danger of satanism.
Besides other things, it condamned Yoga as superstition and rubbish only people led by satan can believe, it said rock music was the direct connection to satan and how many young people would give their souls away to the evil nowadays, proved with pictures of youngsters wearing symbols: A boy with a satanist symbol around his neck and a girl with a peace necklace.
That freaked me out! What the hell is evil about a peace necklace?? (I'm wearing one, by the way - and I'm a Beatles fan. [IMG])

Uh, can't stand these people, thanx.

I guess the people they condamn as "satan's followers" are rather on the right path than they themselves... for being so damn intolerant instead of loviing everyone as their brothers and sisters...

So it condemned rock music, yet there is "christian" rock. Ummm.. you know who these types of people remind me of? George Bush.

You didn't check both links out, have you? Because, the second link says that Christian rock is wrong and not right.
Anyway, I have to agree with what Rain said. :)

Oh my God those people are so totally insane it is utterly hilarious. This is exactly the kind of stupid crap that keeps me well away from [the Christian]church.

Wooh I'm a satantist (Beatles fan and feminist). There's no point repenting, I'm goiung to burn in hell as a heretic anyway. Screw you God squad!

Rain: I totally agree with you. :)
With regards the peace sign, in that context it was probably used to represent hippys and their nasty non Christian stuff (drugs, promiscuous sex, the music etc)
That and the peace movement is a challenge to authority. And we can't have that can we?

the bible does not ban drugs- it bans being intoxicated to the extent that you could do yourself damage

these people need to read their bibles more carefully

whats that... did they say feminists were destroying our homes & families, that women should be holy and serve their husbands... no thanks.

did you read the part where the dirty christian rockers were "dress in demonic leather costumes and unashamedly show off their body parts while prancing about the stage." hahaha that made me laugh. How dare they not be ashamed of their bodies! Not...

    Curse those evil rockers!

Oh well, i guess im goin to hell

The thing is, honestly, (though I verge on obsession with my Beatle love) there really are viable facts you could use to support the fact that they were "immoral" people, by Mr. Brown's standards.

But does he use these true things? No, he simple fabricates them! I mean, they certainly had songs about drugs. But of the ones he claimed were verified to be about that, the only true one was I Am the Walrus. Cold Turkey is about stopping the use of heroin...is that evil? Come on, you've got It's All Too Much, Doctor Robert, etc, and he chooses to say what, "Rubber Soul," which isn't even a SONG. It's an ALBUM! Is the whole ALBUM satanic then? It is evil to reminicse about appreciating your old friends? To sing in french?

Haha, okay. That's obviously the LEAST of the things on the list that make me want to grab that guy and whack him with a guitar till he feels some real emotion. But if you're going to accuse somebody of satanism..atleast back it up! :p

Oh, and since when is a triange satanic?

It scares me that somebody could earn a Phd and still be that disturbed.

Oh, and by the way, I'm a christian, so please don't judge us all on people like that.

    I second that.

Fundies ruin it for everybody. You totally know if Jesus was around in the sixties he woulda partied with the Beatles. If God doesn't believe in *women's rights*, then book me a ticket for the next flight to Rishikesh(sp), Ah'm goin' hindu!

Why is Yellow Submarine emboldened? THAT SONG ISN'T EVEN ABOUT DRUGS TO BEGIN WITH! ARG! *runs through wall, leaving human shaped hole*

They're trying to blame the ENTIRE drug movement of the 60s on the beatles! My God! they got in pretty late in the game, actually.

And God forbid anybody come round trying to change people's ideas about things! Never shake things up! Besides, of course, the fact JESUS DID JUST THAT.

I don't even bother reading the bible quotes because with enough imagination you can use them to say if you're not fucking on a subway, you're sinning. It just takes some gentle mangling.

As quoted in the article, "If people can't face up to the fact of other people being naked or smoking pot . then we're never going to get anywhere" -John

But how delicious is this. fundies ranting about the evils of rock and roll.

I suppose people with borderline fanatisim don't really care too much for facts.

Can't work out why the triangle is santanic eithier... oh wait I just had a thought. The holy trinity (father, son, holy spirit) is illustrated as three points which would be a triangle right?

Don't worry I'm not making judgements about Christians, lots of them are very nice people (such as yourself) it's just the nutters who spoil it.

Technically, having been baptised as a baby, I'm one myself. Alas organised religion (Christianity in particular) doesn't suit my mindset, trust me I've studied many.

That's cool. I'm not sure if it's for me, either. I dig Jesus and God, and I know I believe in it and all, but I'm not sure if the organized part is for me. They all kinda seem too hateful and intolerant or sexist or fake or something. Maybe I should pull a King Henry and start my own.
But anyway, back to porn, the beatles, and women's lib.
(these are a few of my fav-our-ite things...)
