Fury was pretty amazing... more because of the Tiger tank scene... it showed the truth of what it was like facing those beasts n the balls our guys had to drive soda cans into em.... Enemy At The Gates.... the sniper battle in Stalingrad n the movie was based off a book n the book was based off the snipers journals.... the German sniper was a terrifying man in real life... the shit he did while toying with the Russians was soul crushing to the guys facing him... there are things not in the movie that are pure nightmare and the skill he had was unreal
Honestly, most of those movies do not show the real life of war and the reality, they show a hollywood upped (not sure if that is a word) version. I personaly doesn't watch many war movies anymore, since I've seen enough war. But if I had to mention one it would be Casualties of War
Apocalypse Now, not for the "war" aspect but for everything that's depicted in the movie. An absolute classic, a must see in my opinion.
Kelly’s Heroes is a good movie but not one of my favorites. A few more to add to my list…………… Black Hawk Down (2001) Valkyrie (2008) The Pianist (2002) U-571 (2000) The Boy in the Striped Pajamas (2008) The Patriot (2000) 300 (2006)
A fantastic performance by Gary Oldman who portrays Sir Winston very well on who must be the UKs greatest war leader IMO . The other newish film which covers Winston Churchill well is the one below portrayed by Brian Cox. Both films demonstrate the leadership and difficult decisions that had to be made to in order for Great Britain to stand up to the Nazi German War Machine.
