my fiance and i are looking to relocate to amsterdam (we're lookin' to move around 5 or 6 years from now) and i was wondering if anyone on this forum had some info about the in's and outs of moving there/living expenses, laws for relocation, etc...i know that housing there is expensive and in high demand and it may not be easy to find a job right in the city itself, so we are also willing to move somewhere close by (within a reasonable driving distance). anyone who'd be willing to give us any help or info, even if it's just a link to a helpful website, we would be most appreciative thanks so much and lots of love!! amy and dario
http://www.expatica.com this site is good for moving to netherlands from the 'yuppie' point of view. Alot of practical advice if you are a middle class professional being transferred. http://www.channels.nl this site is an 'alternative' viewpoint about the netherlands. Includes info on legal marijuana consumption, ect. http://www.underwateramsterdam.com another alternative veiwpoint. They've changed their website, but they used to have info on such esoteric ideas as squatting (moving into abandoned buildings and setting up house, which is semi-legal in netherlands). I also have been thinking about moving to netherlands in the future. Good luck
