wanted: a vw bus

hey do any of you have an old vw bus that you're looking to sell? i'm in california- fairly close to san francisco, and i am seriously looking for one to buy.

i don't care how many miles are on it as long as:

*it runs reliably. if a part or three needs fixing, but it still works great, i shall certainly consider it.

*it's in fairly good shape. if it's been the victim of a horrible accident or something, i'm not interested. minor dents are ok.

good luck as most beatles bugs in decent shape alone go for more and the Bus is much more rare.

 

hOW EVER California did have lots of VW . but it was mainly the Bug used for sand dunes .

i have found a '71 westfalia camper for 1000 here, but i'm not 100% sure that it's what i want. i was kind of hoping for the classic front of the vw bus, with the big logo and all- but beggars can't be choosers!

i guess i'll wait a week and decide.

anyone have a reason that a 60's model of bus would be better than a 70's model?

all i can tell you is the aircooled engines are the cheapest engine in the entired world auto industry to rebuilt. if you can rebuilt simple type motorcycle engine you can rebuilt a VW aircooled engine. prob around $600.00 or less.

 

1971 are nice if not rusted .

 

1971 is a good year all around, And the 1600's they came with are really cheap to rebuild. www.thesamba.com has lots of vw stuff and people I'm mistabanker on there website. Check em out if your goin to own a vw... Theres pictures on here of my 76 its a 2000cc fuelly Next bus i buy wont be a fuel injection though...

there only 2 in ireland 1 in the Museum the other 1 was lost when the IRA used it.

 

Is that a joke? Cuz i have seen plenty around here in my time, just they usually pace from private owner to private owner from what i know. Hard to find.
