so since this is in the help wanted forum, can i assume that walmart is looking to hipforums to hire new upper management personnel?
they must be doing something right because I read in the paper that mr and mrs Walmart have a huge house and a new Buick
Is that right? I couldn't care about Walmart or the mr or mrs. I do not go to Walmart, but I do love my Buick.
I worked for Wally years ago for about 9 months stocking at night. They are akin to organized slavery! They pay people next to nothing and expect you to work your ass off!! I still consider that one of the hardest jobs I have ever worked. Sometimes, when I go there, I see some of the people who I worked with who are still there...and I feel so sorry for them! I wish they would get a real job somewhere and leave that shit behind!
Do they really? Are they just fake ugs, though? I don't really like the shape of ugs......My first pair i found at a rummage sale for peanuts...they kept me warm and were easy to walk in, so that is why i bought another pair or two on ebay for less.....and i found bear paws now that are just as good and half the money.
i don't think i've ever seen anyone working hard at walmart. most employees i see there are just standing around looking bored. they definitely don't work as hard as i had to when i worked in food service for minimum wage. and they get paid more. edit: i'm not saying walmart is a good company to work for or anything; i just don't understand why everyone acts like they're the worst ever when there's a bunch of companies that pay less and expect more.
I am a temp. The truck comes in with the merchandise jammed into it. P.S. I only get $8.50 an hour before taxes.
the self checkout is usually by far the fastest. unless you have to wait behind someone, since i am apparently the only walmart customer in the world that can actually work a self checkout machine myself without several long, confused pauses and repeated calls to the cashier. south dakota is the only state with a minimum wage currently set at $8.50. so unless that's where you are, you're making more than a lot of people in your area.
Minimum wage in Oakland, CA is $12 and change.$12.29? Some pain in the accountant number. SF (which might not have one in city limits) has a minimum wage of $15. Both include servers/tipped employees. So tipping is dropping off.
There is a Super-Walmart where I live but I've never been there. I have been to some other ones in different states though. The last time we were camping in Wisconsin we stopped at a Super-Walmart and I remember thinking about something I had read back then about them possibly starting medical care in Super-Walmart's and wondering exactly how crappy your medical care needs to be to decide to go get it at Walmart instead.
