I take a pretty hefty dose of vitamin C every day (10 grams, or 10,000mg). I've been taking two teaspoons at 5 grams each of Solaray vitamin C (as Calcium-Ascorbate) powder every day for the past several years. I was looking at the label the other day when I noticed "Product of China" written in small print on the back label. I am not sure how long the label on this product has stated this, but I've been buying this brand for a while and this is the first time I noticed it. It will certainly be the last time I buy this brand, which was "supposed" to be a quality name in vitamins. I simply do not feel safe taking anything into my body from China given their track record -- and certainly not vitamins.

It's best not to think about.

Stinky tofu is a delicacy there. Except it takes a long time to ripen, so sometimes they mix in human excrement to speed up the smell.

Oil is expensive, so sometimes they reprocess oil collected from drains and sewers and reuse it for cooking. They call it digouyou.

Says the drug companies that would prefer people take drugs instead.

I will agree that some supplements can be a waste, but it depends on the supplement. For instance, most body building supplements are a waste.

I recently had my computer worked on by the Geek Squad, who are Best Buy's tech support team. Per their recommendation, I bought a piece of hardware from China inadvertently (off Amazon without knowing where it was shipping from) and my stupid computer wouldn't accept the part. It was incompatible. Besides that I have heard horror stories about the designer drugs coming from over their that people are dying from.

I would see if they have a website. Reach out to them and see if they are FDA approved. If the vitamins are safe for consumption then there is no real reason to dump the brand in my opinion.

Take it from me as a person who went from really healthy to cancer-stricken after 22 months in China, be careful what you ingest. All jokes aside, take care of your body, your life does indeed count on it. Don't get me wrong, visit China for the history and the beautiful structures, travel around! But do not linger and do not trust the products to help your body...

When it comes to vitamin supplement, does it really even matter where it comes from? We don't even know what we are really taking anyway so I personally wouldn't worry about it. There's 30 other products claiming to do the same thing.
