For sheer 18th Century architectural beauty alone I have to give the nod to Salem Massachusetts

(merry at that time being a euphamism for being under the influence of alkyhaul)
summer's end being the literal translation of samhain (pronounced sowen) though more associated with the autumnal equanox then the end of october.
most of the spooky stuff comes less from the celtic and druidic then from the "christian" distortion there of.
not that celts didn't do some extreme and disturbing stuff too. but not nearly so often nor any more so then early so called christians (after charlimain,
when rome started using them as an excuse) were doing at the time.
