I think too much emphasis is placed on sex these days, and that if you havent lost your virginity by a certain age, that there's something wrong with you. I don't think either view is correct, but it's funny how things change.

When you're ready I suppose. But it seems a bit strange to be an emotionally stable adult and to not be ready for a sexual relationship. I mean sex is natural, sex is human. And its damn good. I don't think that's the case. Yes purity and virginity have been revered, especially in ancient times, (I.E. Roman Vestal virgins, nuns, etc) but not really for common folk. People, especially girls, used to marry at very young ages. Yes they'd be virgins at the time, but not really for much longer. This was common for a considerable amount of time. I'd say that the pressure to marry has evolved into the pressure to lose one's virginity. Which seems like an advancement, to be honest.

I don't really see how it's an advancement. A person feeling pressured to lose their virginity is really no better than someone feeling pressured to get married... I guess you could call it an advancement, but it's a bit like saying having your hands and feet chopped off is an advancement over being beheaded. I aint a virgin anymore i wanted to wait until i was older but i did end up having sex anyway. i actually don't think theres a age where you are "too old to be virgin" seriously people make big deal out of nothing, i think being virgin/pure is beyond great and people should see that, though sex is pretty great. I look at it this way: If you get married you're gonna lose you're virginity anyway. Probably the same night you get married. If you're not married and you have sex, you're still losing you're virginity. Either way virginity is lost. But if you lose your virginity out of wedlock you don't have to be married to that same person for the rest of you're life (theoretically). BIG advancement in my book. And comparing the first time having sex to having your feet and hands cut off is a little extreme, lmao
