I lucid dream somewhat frequently. It didn't happen the first time until several years ago but it has been happening more often ever sense. Sometimes I will know if I might have a good possibility of lucid dreaming that night if I start to dream right before I go to sleep, where I am still aware of myself that I can make myself wake up if i wanted (hard to explain).

I often find that my lucid dreams consist of violent things like killing people and such. One time I had a dream and there were cops and I was straight buckin my heat on em. I killed a bunch of 'em and it felt good. I could give myself whatever weapons i wanted. I knew it wasn't real, but it felt real...more like playing a very immersive video game. I'm not normally a violent person, or have thoughts of violence in waking states. I don't wanna kill cops either, I don't trust em tho. Lucid dreams are cool because you can almost whatever you want, stuff you couldn't do in real life. Sometimes you have to figure how to do something, or that you can do something. It's kinda like the matrix.

I lucid dream a lot but I don't really have violent lucid dreams or violent dreams at all. Sometimes there are dreams where there is a sort of war going on but it's not any sort of bloody war. Sometimes I die but it doesn't really hurt and sometimes even feels good.

I prefer, since learning more about dreaming as a spiritual practice to let my lucid dreams play out on their own rather than trying to control them but it's definitely nice to know you're dreaming.

I've heard that you can't feel pain in dreams but I have definitely felt pain in a dream before. It felt like real, actual pain. Not too bad but it was definitely pain.

Yes...I definitely have felt pain in dreams before, I just don't anymore. I always used to have sleep paralysis when I was a kid. I am so glad I don't have that anymore. That's like a chronic sense of knowing you're dreaming but not being able to wake up from the dream and barely being able to breathe.

I think things like sleep paralysis, night terrors and lucid dreaming are related. People who experience any of these on a regular basis are more likely to experience other unusual sleep phenomena that someone who never has such experiences. Certain drugs also raise the probability that these experiences will occur and maybe potentiate them. Melatonin is one that comes to mind right away, 5-htp also which is no surprise.
