Your sitting in the darkness the suns blocked by the night everythings going backwards and your trying to take flight You realise its a bind, trapping your fragile mind, you break out and without a doubt the world is there to find. Then your running through the streets looking at your feet watching every step you take its me your trying to meet you stumble about to fall into a big brick wall when i catch you you know its true that i give you my all. We kiss in the lifting mist which seems like a brief time i take your hand and lead you through the maze of hate and crime. tanks and troops roll by they're sent off to die in some foreign land with dunes of sand the reason is a lie. They came looking for us me and you and others too all they found was innocents who only believed their god was true. we hide behind some rubble this war has burst our bubble our freedom's dead the tear's we've shed don't seem to ease the trouble. we reach the city limits, and go to the gateway out the sentry's looking down at us but he doesn't curse or shout he kneels down on the floor a tear forms with eyes so raw he says that he was tricked you see into serving for the military he wishes he'd ignored the lies before he smiles at the two of us the pity in his eyes handing you a flower he breaks the miltary ties He throws off his badge and cap the border gate's barrier went with a snap the guard is seen a shot kills him clean and his head falls in my lap. I shed one last tear of anger how come the people who suffer in war are good? you tell me to run thats the thing with the world, evil doesn't die but should.
cheers mon... it was poo, but then again it was written more as a song. Only took 5 mins so what the heck.
I love this poem Danny.... The way it's written is technically great but the message is the strongest thing that leaps out to me here. Beautiful
