I fitted a new SSD to a note- book not long ago. Lately when it plays back videos the playback is not smooth. What else could be wrong?
Sorry Gal. I can’t help with that one. All of my stuff now is Apple related, and works in a different way to note books. I have lost it now with the workings of all other stuff. I mean my IPhones are literally my note book with videos and everything working perfectly. Tell Billy to Google it, and that should help him I guess.XXXX
You might try different video programs . I like VLC my self. It's cross platform and free . I use the ver. that runs on Linux . I think you can still down load it off softpedia and other players .
Before you formatted the drive, did you select AHCI (advanced host controller interface) on the motherboard.? SSD handles data differently, so the incoming packets need to be aligned. As the drive fills up, incorrectly set, it can soon become a problem if the file management is incorrect. The first OBVIOUS sign will be on video, but it will be happening on everything. I am not certain whether changing the setting will work now, of whether you will need to reformat and start again.
Sorry I can’t Gal. Like I said in PM I only use Apple stuff now, and that usually works in a totally different way to how what Bulby want to know.
1 800 GEEKSQUAD? I have tech support through them - I know everybody is piss-y about big bad Best Buy, but they've only done me wrong once... We paid them extra to come to our house in the Geek-wagon... $50. So, he comes and honestly I feel like he didn't understand the issue. And then told us to buy a part from Amazon, which was also wrong (they didn't have the part). We tried, but the part didn't work out or something, I forget what it was... But we had to wait for it to ship, and I don't think we go t money back. Ended up replacing the laptop. BUT, they do know plenty. You just have to watch out if they come out to diagnose something. I get tired of the diagnostic that they run, but it's necessary. They do a full diagnostic when you drop off your machine... ANYWAY... if you get their tech support plan, it covers 3 machines for the year of subscription - you could do your phone, your laptop, and your buddy's/spouse's phone or something. And there's no limit. You can drop it off as many times as you want. We've had our money's worth from it.
I did answer Gal, but perhaps I just answered in this thread you gave me the link to, as I did if you read back. Sorry. Some misunderstanding methinks!xxx Perhps I thought just replying here was enough. I certainly wasn’t meaning to ignore you. I want to live! Watching football now!
