I'm a power gamer, I know it I'm okay with it, I'm in probably the top 70% of gamers in everything but fps and rts, I pwn rts and I suck horribly at fps, yeah most powergamers are jackasses, They don't have real reasons for it, they have made up bullshit reasons for it I play games for fun and I happen to have a knack, if I farmed 24\7 or played as hard as some of the real nut jobs I'd be better, it wouldn't be fun any more though.... so why? fps is where all the money is anyway so I'm out of that, and making money off mmo farming is just effing wrong.
im not to fond of video games anymore. They take to long and almost seem like a hassle now to deal with. I still enjoy playing old nes games or classic arcade games.
Counterstrike Source. Want to join me on my favourite server? Eh? Then of course there is always the forthcoming Battlefield 2.
I don't know if anyone here remembers when Pacman came out. Games were very perfunctory back then. 25th birthday of Pacman this month: http://www.cnn.com/2005/TECH/fun.games/06/15/pac.man.25.ap/index.html .
Timesplitters is a good fps series for playstation. I don't think farming mmorpgs is wrong, people agree to pay for it.
a wise man once said something to me. the kids of today dont have worse attention spans, they have differnet ones. computer games change focus of peoples attention. it can be for the good or bad. i love computer games. but i have balance. computer games do NOT enhance 'social skills'. they enhance internet socialising. its very different to real life socialising, and if anything, it is the biggest scourge of computers. the way they destroy humans ability to communicate face to face, or with real people. the benefits of computer games come in their exercising of the mind, of solving problems, of doing the many mental tasks that we use every day. but the degenerative effects are the ones that are inherit of computers. physical degeneration from sititng in front of computer or tv. perceptive degeneration from viewing a flat screen. social degeneration from the way that computers make people less human, more just 'peeps'. 'contact' rather than an actual person. these are onyl harmful in people who spend more time playing video games than doing other stuff. ive gone through stages of that, and some people LIVE like that. computer games are therefor on the whole bad things for humanity. we can achieve the positive aspects many other ways. humans are social creatures, we have evolved to depend on society and communication to get where we are today. i think the best way to put it is that technology is turning us all into junkies very slowly.
the best game ive seen come out lately is at www.taleworlds.com not the best graphics.. and its in beta so the game isnt as diverse (like number of npc's and diversity in actions and inventory items and missions and stuff and no storyline yet) though its fully playable. but the gameplay.. is just realyl awesome. its made by two people. it is a 'people's game' for those who really enjoy playing and not pwning the commercial sector games. no multiplayer yet unfortnuately, but when that eventualyl does come it wil be awesome.. the fighting engine is unique to anything ive seen or played before. im gonna play it now actually! 10US dollars for a key that can be used twice. its great, go get it
well I dont care if you kill people in a video game but war games teach that war is a fun good thing Grand theft auto on the other hand is just a game that has blood and sex in it and playing cant hurt you any more than watching a movie. ehh what ever do what you like afterall it is just a game......
are you serious? you think the influence of war games is more serious than the influence of games where you steal and destroy cars, murder people on the street, and deal with mobs and gangs, all in a single player environment (i believe this adds to the influence, as opposed to multiplayer games where the game takes on a more .. game-like state) where the hospital always manages to find and rescue you, and most of all where you can drive around as wrecklessly as you want and if by chance you hit a wall that fast, you can always hear the car getting ready to explode and get out safely. these sorts of games have the bad influence except i personally dont give a shit, its fun, play it!
btw i think films are infinetly worse than videogames because actual humans are in films whereas youll never see anything you see in a videogame, off the screen.
I just had an old friend breeze through town and actually bought ghost recon for me. got me hooked up with a clan etc... and now it's all militaryish. I can't fuggin stand it. According to him I'm whoopin ass, according to me it just sucks. Point is i like rpg's of the sword, spells, healing nature much better and it's not so populated with the "let's pretend we're in the army" types. I mean wtf is this "you're on leave, put in a request chit" shit? I PLAY VIDEO GAMES TO HAVE FUN. I just don't like these military fps games all that much unless it's just fuggin off in the pre-programme missions and shit (run around like an idiot and blow shit up) and now firsthand I have this whole creepy pre-military metapogoramming thing in the vision. Don't like it one bit. Those militaryish things give m the creeps. All i have to say is 'Enders Game'. I fuggin luv NW, and always wished somebody would up fallout to like the level of Guild w or something because that ps2 game on that techno cult sucked. I was salivating at the idea of that and it was just an exercise in the anti-climactic. Games work with the head, the head works with the heart, the heart pumps blood to the brain. Out of the eyes comes the spirit. Make a choice. edt: ... and I sound like some kind of blabbering condescending dick but it's true. btw. much greeeeeeeen to the mother of ganja. peace. (ufe for a week). btw.... watch the ads, snipers in the tower.
