Ostard, are you referring to Temple sacrifices?
    The Temple is gone.

    From Proverbs 12: 10

"A good man looks after his animals.

Even the kindest actions of an evil man are cruel."

    But it also says, 1Cor10:25,26
"Eat anything in the meat market without question of conscience for the Earth is the Lord's and everything in it."

there were a few developed through Loma Linda hospital and several other highly respected SDA medical institutions. the SDA church strongly promotes good health along with strict adherence to levitical dietary laws and protection of your body as a temple of god. in addition, it is held within the church that you must protect your health in order to help further serve the lord.

(sound like i've spent much time with the SDA's? well, i have.)

The sacrifices referred to in the Tanach (that would be the Christian/Xtian Old Testament) are all performed at the Temple in Jerusalem. Since the Dome of the Rock Mosque sits on the site now, with only the Western, or Wailing, Wall left, we have no Temple in which to perform the sacrifices.
Thus there is no call to perform them.
Remember, the sacrifice was the donation of your best to G-d.
Today we use money and volunteering.
Sacrifies kept the Kohenim and Levites and their families fed.

I hope that in the time of the Third Temple we are adequately humane as to not sacrifice animals.
I'll hand over a LOT of oil and flour, but doves and sheep and bullocks are outside my personal pale.
I do not believe that HaShem, B'H, requires death.

Oh yes drumminmama, I realize this. This series of posts has covered many subjects, such as whether the Bible is correct, among other things. I just happened to go on one branch off instead of another. :) It is fun to see what people have to say about many different subjects.

Thanks for understanding a part that you might not agree with the whole thing though. :)

    Good reading you.

    Jess.
