Vegetarian Prison Systems

inmates can sometimes eat whatever they want..
1500 calories is the target goal for the institution.. farm institutions/prisons use food waste to feed pigs aswell.. Though pork rations may be limited in some jails, since the population is muslim.. Pork goes to outside food banks..ect..
Fresh vegetables may also be served more in the fall..
Menus may change season to season but there is a budget that keeps the basics unchanged year after year..
Menu rotation would be more noticeable during lunch and dinner trays... Theres not much you can change to a institutional breakfast...

One must remember that staff eat in the jails dinning halls also.. If working in a penitentiary I would hope the food is safe for staff and inmates to limit hostilities...
