I have read one of the two possible reasons for infanticide among animals is abnormal behavior resulting from high population, which is similar to when animals act abnormally when placed in large groups of their own kind and kill each other. The other is sexual evolution, which is males trying to drive out the young by killing them in order to prepare to females to carry their young. Animals obviously behave much differently than we do. There are many more things animals do that we would never dream of doing ourselves. That's why the whole "animals do it, why can't I?" argument seems to just not make sense at all to me. Again, the "animals do it, so why can't I?" doesn't work with me. As far as I am concerned, if it came from their bodies, it's their business. I did not lay the egg, so I don't see why I would have the right to do what I will with it. Cows nourish their young with their milk because it is meant for their young, not ours. We have our own breasts. Dairy also contributes to the production of veal, so I refuse to take part in it. Not to mention, milk tastes nasty to me, but that is my own personal opinion. I think the whole "rotting flesh" argument is trying to say that when you are gnawing on a chicken leg, you're really eating flesh. Such animals that eat rotting flesh contribute to the decay process of the earth. Just because a vulture does it doesn't mean I am going to indulge myself on a dead man or any other creature. My body was not meant for that. Well, I can't really say much about this other than most cheeses are very unhealthy. Not because they are molded milk, but because most of them are loaded in chloesterol, fat, and contain casein, which has many negative affects for the body. Well, personally, if anyone is going to consume meat, I'd rather see them go this route. Unfortunately, most people who eat meat do not. Also, while the conditions may be better for slaughtering the animals, it is still slaughter to me. Ancient humans began by eating berries and needed more nourishment and turned to animals. They also needed to keep warm by animal coats, especially during the winter. They did not have the information and resources we now have. I believe that humans were not meant to live on animals forever. We were less developed then. It is in my own opinion that our teeth are suited more for plants. I don't know about anyone else, but I only have two pointed teeth in my whole mouth, and the rest are flat. The two pointed teeth I do have are certainly not built well enough to cut through a running antelope. How exactly do you know humans will not come to a point when animal products are not needed? As years go by, we are improving rapidly in technology and means for making consumer goods. We are discovering ways to eliminate what we once depended on. That is what progress is all about, right? Not staying stuck in the past and never having a hope for something better to happen. I refuse to eat a cow because "it will be killed anyway," although I completely respect your choice if you choose to do so. I know this wasn't directed at me, but I wanted to comment that a lot of people don't find anything pleasing about those who slaughter animals. Don't get me wrong--I completely agree that calling people names and judging them is terribly wrong. I just wanted you to know that a lot of people feel strongly about that and say things they often don't mean.
you are what you eat. i am most certainly not a rotting piece of flesh in a colon... Im sweet potatoes and green peas and fruit salad for dessert.
by the way, old rotting flesh up tp 7 years old can be found in the colons of meat eaters when a cleanse is done. why? because we are not built with more than one stomach to digest meat. bits of raw meat and mostly veggies and nuts, seeds, legumes.... That is what we are built to eat. If we want a steak we should go out and kill a cow and take a bite out of him Most meat eaters chow down on 5 or more cooked or processed animal products a day and their colons are festering with rotten flesh and animal byproducts non digestible. mmmmm Animal products are NOT necessary or HEALTHY!
Ok so meat eaters have colons packed with rotting flesh....so people who only eat a vegan diet have squeaky clean insides then right??? Cause each and every one of you if ONLY eating 100% organic fruits, veggies, legumes and grains right? So none of you have one ounce of poisonous insecticides, herbicides or pesticides in your bodies then? More than one stomach???? Cows have have four (they do not eat meat) and camels have three (they do not eat meat either) while cats and dogs (meat eaters) have one....uhhhh. True we are not "animals" in the sense that you are thinking, but while chickens eat their eggs, some women eat their placentas....im mean we are going back and forth here. And "infantcide" amoung animals is also caused by sick and or dying young that would attract predators....is you really want to get into that. From what I have read and discussed with my veg friends...their biggest issue is B12 deficiency....B12 being present in meats and dairy products...and what does B12 def. cause? Anemia....hmmm and long term anemia causes gastric cancers, polyps, tumors and neuro defects....so while one group have rotting flesh the other have other issues... I mean, we could sit here and talk about how disgusting meat eaters are and how vegans arent getting the proper nutrition until we are blue in the face....or we can share our nutrition information with each and keep our minds open to all ideas...in the past 5 years I have cut back drastically on my meat intake due to many concerns I had with knowledge I gained from speaking with open minded people....I know what amounts are good for MY BODY with the amount of exercise and activity I do. Bottom line....you can't influence people by calling them names and telling them they are disgusting or by attempting to shock them into believing what you have to say....
I'm sorry, but this post really don't makes sense at all indeed. I agree very much with Autumn Epona. Well, I'm sure you can influence some that way, but it certainly isn't the way to go. Disgust is quite often an opinion anyway. I personally can't see anything disgusting about using milk and eggs from certain animals. Also, even if eating meat would be unhealthy for us, so what? For a lot of people that's not the reason to quit it. If it feels good it's worth the 'risks'. Same with smoking for example.
i did mean that our intestines are too long..erg when i said stomach but i dont care if you pick apart everything i say because some of what you are saying is right too so its good to get it out there. It my personal opinion when i say i think its disgusting and its your to defend eating animal products... its your body so do what you want obviously. I get my B12 from nutritional yeast.mmmmm and i would also like to add.. I have 5 minutes here in there in between chasing, cooking for and cleaning up after kids to post so i cannot sit here and write what i would really love to because my fragile piscean organizing skills are drowned out in the screams!
B12 comes from the ground.. cows eat it (for example), and it takes it's place within the cow's stomach, and the food they eat is then combined with the b12 bacterium and then obviously stored within the "meat" of the cow. B12 used to be found within pretty much all vegetables and plants, but as cleaning methods have been a lot more thorough only trace amounts can be found in plants now- one negative of higher cleaning of vegetables. B12 supplements basically use the same chemical process that used to happen in our stomachs and animal's stomachs but without the stomach About the stomachs, that's mainly because they eat a different type of vegetation, mainly grass, which is alot harder to digest than normal vegetation, you'll find a lot of animals eating "normal" vegetarian/herbivorous food with just one stomach. Also when you start to say that even though something is unhealthy for you then you contradict your previous post on "reason and thought", when one reasons to basically give them self a slow suicide or limit their survival when otherwise they could be fully healthy and live full lives, reason and thought are out of the window . Hope I helped clear a few things up, alas I read too much into things, stupid knowledge gathering complex xD
