The word converting is not really the word I wanted but I couldn't think of another one. How do you vegans try converting vegetarians or meat lovers? I feel most of them don't even realise there is vegan cream and custard and chicken and everything else that is fucking amazing and yes processed but great in moderation. Even prawns that look and taste like prawns. Yet they say "It's too hard" or I like meat but they hate watching the death of the animals or seeing the male chickens ground alive for there eggs. So in my opinion be the vegan you wish you met before you were vegan, be happy, motivating, encouraging but tell the truth about the industry. A lot of people think vegans are skinny white freaks with dreads. I wear makeup, deodorant, perfume, nail polish, I wax, I eat everything anything else eats, but the only difference is that my life is cruelty free. Just remember something you say could change someone's life forever. It's good to have interactions with everyone, even when you buy your groceries, anything you say could start a spark.
The reality of vegan as observed in Oakland,Calif., vegans are usually chubby, few have dreads anymore, lots of make up, very light wallets because the vegan restaurants are pricey and Republic of V will cause you to put your life in hock. I don't try to convince anyone to go vegan, vegetarian or clean, whole food eating. It has to come from within. What I can do is share food, and encourage those who want to walk this road.
