This month (I am unsure of the exact date) is my one-year anniversary for vegetarianism. I have been inching my way into veganism since January.
I hit 10 years here soon. I celebrate it on my birthday and decided to be a vegetarian around my 10th birthday and I'm hitting my 20th in 2 days. It wasn't on my birthday, but it was around it. Definately in March...it's just easier to remember my birthday!
I can't remember when I went vegetarian, but I'll have been vegan two years in June, I think! Best decision that I ever made, Rock On. I love my vegan Christmas', Birthdays and Celebrations... never would have thought I'd make it here and I have to stop and think sometimes how blessed I am to have done.
I became vegetarian some time in winter 2004, and vegan last summer. I don't remember the exact dates... it was all kind of gradual.
I must've became vegetarian around this time last year =] Family thought it was just a phase .. one year on
I decided at around age 6 that I didn't want to eat pork anymore, after witnessing one of my animal friends who was a pig (her name was Dot - I clearly remember this) being murdered while I was on a family farm in Western Europe. Since then, it was an on and off battle, until I finally reached the stage and learned how to go about making the transition healthily. My one-year was in March 07. Yay! One year felt AMAZING! ^ Ezzie ^ , I know how you feel, I am the only veg*n in my family and they were a bit taken aback at first and thought it was just a phase, since I had always mentioned abandoning meat and never did so successfully (enough). I find that the more I examine my reasons for making this decision, the stronger my conviction. It's a personal choice I am proud of, and know that I will continue on the path in making decisions that fulfill the inner calling to compassion. Keep on keeping on. I love you all!
I was raised as a vegan. For the first five years of my life, this was so. Then, I started school, and the kids teased me about the food I ate. February 8, 2001, I turned vegetarian again. Then, I got real sick and I was pushed to eat animals for protein. May 31, 2004 is when I turned vegetarian, again. Two days ago, I turned vegan. I plan on staying vegan for the rest of my life.
I have been vegetarian for... 7 days. 7 months. 14 years. hehe they're all multiples of seven dancing banana me!! so all my life... and it was on April Fools day too
25 years, the day after Thanksgiving. Late November, for the rest of you across the world. I've been thankful ever since. x
