I agree, I just didnt' want someone to read it and think that hystos were the equivalent of vasectomies. The thing is, a Tubal Ligation is ALSO an invasive, sometimes major surgical procedure.

I refuse to get a tubal, as I have had more than half a dozen surgeries on my reproductive organs, and I am not going to do that again, unless it is to save my life, and as there are many reports (and I know some womyn) who have reduced blood flow to the ovaries afterward, which can lead to semi-menopause after the tubal. There is not a similar phenomenon for vasectomies. A vas is vastly safer than a tubal. Of course, every couple needs to work it out on their own. But, it irks me that tubal ligations are more common than vasectomies, yet vasectomies are safer and have less side effects and a shorter recovery period.

Most doctors, male and female will recommend a tubal BEFORE a vasectomy. The LESS invasive, less painful, less side effect full procedure should be the one most done, but, in this case it simply isn't.

My dh also refuses to get a Vasectomy. But, it is his body, so it is up to him. (And it'll be him working until he's 70 if I get pregnant again. ;) j/k kinda)
