I have a question for you guys who have had a vasectomy: did it affect the consistency of your semen? My husband had his vasectomy over 20 years ago (he was 44 at the time) but quite soon after we both noticed that his ejaculations seemed much runnier! His semen had always been quite white & the consistency of runny yoghurt, but it then became much less opaque & much more liquid. We have only had one friend who also had a vasectomy to make a comparison with (his was also fairly liquid but not only was he some 6 years older than my hubby, he said his semen had always been quite runny) so that was not really a good comparison!
I had a vasectomy about six months ago (so that my wife could stop taking the pill, for reasons too involved to detail here) and I think it's thinned out a little (but not much). This is to be expected, considering that it's now 100% prostate fluid and contains no sperm to "thicken it up".
I am curious as to the amount of ejaculate---has that changed? I have not had a vasectomy, but we have talked about how that would change the ejaculate, and so I am interested in that.
As nearly as I can tell, the volume hasn't changed since mine. My ejaculate amount has gradually diminished (slightly) over that past couple of decades (I'll be sixty in three months), but my vasectomy hasn't caused a sudden decrease on top of that.
No...I can safely say that volume hasn't really altered, he still comes just as much I'm sure, but there is no doubt that it is noticeably runnier!
My man was never a huge cummer before and I have noticed a slight decrease in the amount of ejaculate. Tastes the same and looks about the same as well... He did remark that it takes him longer to climax and if sex is many days in a row, it gets even more difficult. And by maybe the third night in a row, he doesn't get as hard. But he IS 51, so age is most likely a factor here as well.
After mine I noticed slight change in consistency but not sure if I noticed any decrease in volume. At any rate it was not a significant change for me
Actually, now nice thing that I've noticed since my vasectomy is, with no sperm in the semen anymore, it cleans up much nicer. No nasty solid sperm left to stick to things! Jerking off in the shower is sooooo tidy now!
I had a vasectomy over 25 years ago after the births of our three children. I never noticed any change in the consistancy of my cum - it still seems as thick and creamy as it was before.
I had one 35 years ago and didn't notice a change in consistency or volume. Age has had a dramatic impact on volume, but that's a different matter.
I didn't notice any change after mine. Seeing that the sperm are microscopic and that is the only thing to come out of the vas, there should be no visible change.
