Variation on "So Long at the Fair"

I am trying to find the name of an old TV serial from the early eighties, I think, that was a reworking of the story of "So Long at the Fair". But instead of a brother/sister relationship
with the two main characters it was a father/daughter pairing, if memory serves me right with the girl trying to find her dad against a backdrop of denial of him ever being in the hotel and the room he stayed in disappearing. Anyone got any ideas?


Finally found the title!!! It was called "Watch All Night". Made by Granada TV and shown
in 1980. Starred Lucinda Bateman. Based on a novel by John Foster. I hope I wasn't the
only person to have watched it!
