I met Van Morrison around 1970 and went on stage and he gave me his tambourine. This was at the Cherry Hill Arena, which isn't there anymore. Van Morrison is a wonderful man. I and a friend rode with Dickey Betts and Duane Allman back to their motel back in 1971 or so....we got tossed out and hitch hiked back to the Spectrum to get my car so we could get home, this was at about 3:00 in the morning, I'd guess. Dickey was annoyed with us. I was young and dumb, and full of FUN. That was those days for me. I liked to go see "fun" bands, Allman, Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper but I listened to music that was all kinds, Traffic, Byrds, Neil Young, Buffalo Springfield, Spirit, you name it.....I heard of it pret' near. Went to a couple of be in's; didn't go to Woodstock...my college age brother wouldn't go near the place. It was for the best I think. We used to drink Annie Greensprings and Boones Farm; I wore embroidered jeans and long hair... Most guys then had weed around. Folks were a lot more mellow I suppose. In retrospect, I guess I should have done more studying. Such is life.
I was so much older than; I'm younger than that now. "The Virgin Groupie" In a manner of speaking, eh? My Virtue is Save with Albert.
