So far, opposition for a proposed medical marijuana bill has been qualified as nothing less than absurd. Topping the list of the most outrageous claims, DEA special agent, Matt Fairbanks, stated in testimony to the Utah Senate that “Reefer Madness” would cause the state’s wildlife to be stoned all the time. If you think is a joke, think again. According to Fairbanks, who’s responsible for eliminating marijuana from Utah’s back-country landscape, the main purveyors of marijuana crimes in nature, are rabbits, and marijuana legalization would only be contributing to their addiction. When recalling a past event where he encountered one these stoned critters, Fairbanks spoke about the day he realized “rabbits that had cultivated a taste for the marijuana….” Stating how: “One of them refused to leave us, and we took all the marijuana around him, but his natural instincts to run were somehow gone.” Reference: https://www.marijuanapackaging.com/blog/utah-moves-forward-with-medical-marijuana-legalization/
I think the Republican Party is a joke. We know that in the usual case the conservatives are all for independent state regulation, how dare the federal government tell us how to write out laws! However, they don't seem to like the fact that the federal government is letting states take their own stance on marijuana laws and now the conservatives cry and bitch about it because the Feds won't preempt the state law! Oh boo hoo! Maybe we need another civil war.
You can't just eat raw cannabis and get high, it's an abuse of the plant to do this. You would require a fat bonded or some sort of solvent. Can't see rabbits lighting up
It was dogs in Colorado and now rabbits. Pretty sad when all the DEA has is "it hurts the animals". They don't care about animal welfare when they shoot dogs in raids. The truth is without weed we don't need the DEA. They can not justify their funding since all the other drug users together do not equal the people who smoke weed. It's also one of the easiest drugs to detect and they depend on the weed to lead them to other stuff. It's all about them keeping their jobs. I doubt it will ever be legal federally since doing that would require the DEA to approve it. Their opinion will matter more then doctors even though they are not trained physicians and of course they will say no. But we can continue to go state by state and do it.
