I'm thinking of visiting a local gay sauna for the first time. I'm a married man and don't want to risk any sort of infection or disease. I'd only use protection anyway if anal did occur, but what about the likes of oral? Nobody used a condom for oral and I wouldn't want to, but worry that it's still a way of transferring STD's. Is it worth starting prep before going even if I only do oral? It would be discreet from my wife, so not sure how I'd get it anyway. Thoughts?
Wow, I missed this until now. But here goes for all who are interested. PrEP is only good for HIV prevention. It does not fend off any other STI's that one may encounter. Taking PrEP before engaging in sex will fend off HIV. So if you want to engage with another man when you do not know his medical history it is advisable to take it for oral or anal sex, married or not. Now then for other STI's there are two ways to protect yourself. Abstinence and condoms. People do use condoms for oral sex and STD's can be passed along orally. If you want to go bare and risk it the odds of contracting a disease are still pretty low and most have a cure. The best thing for your sauna adventure is to use condoms. I know, I know, they can restrict sensation for some men but they also restrict the spread of disease.
