In days gone by: Houses had thatched roofs-thick straw-piled high, with no wood underneath.
It was the only place for animals to get warm, so all the cats and other small animals (mice, bugs) lived in the roof.
When it rained it became slippery and sometimes the animals would slip and fall off the roof..
Hence the saying "It's raining cats and dogs."

In 1988, Ronnie Wood opened "Woody’s on the Beach" in Miami, a club featuring a house band headed by Bobby Keys, hosting performances by local acts, friends of Wood’s and occasionally Wood himself.
The club was popular, but was closed due to complaints from neighbours who found it too loud.

Samoans established Mexico city, and Mexicans and Hawaiians getting along very nicely to this day, with Hawaiians inventing their own extremely popular "Hawaiian-Mexican" pizza. Essentially, a "Fiesta Pizza" with pineapple and jalapenos however, native Hawaiians often prefer spam on it as well.

Some people are so far-sighted, with eyeballs that are elongated front to back, that they can see infrared light. The first recorded case, was of a British man during WWII, who reported seeing a signal flashing from offshore, only to discover he could see infrared and had witness a German spy boat signaling someone on shore. Marty Feldmen was British spy, who alone could see in the dark.

There's a trademark on the world's darkest shade of black.
In the late 2010s, artist Anish Kapoor won the exclusive rights to use the color called vantablack, the "blackest black," meaning no other artist could use it. This didn't sit well with other creative-types, which is why Stuart Semple created the "pinkest pink," which he made available for purchase to anyone except Kapoor.
