In architecture, and specifically in Gothic architecture, a gargoyle (/ˈɡɑːrɡɔɪl/) is a carved or formed grotesque with a spout designed to convey water from a roof and away from the side of a building, thereby preventing rainwater from running down masonry walls and eroding the mortar between.

Why do eggs come in a dozen? (12) ?
Under a system that came to be known as English units, which was a combination of old Anglo-Saxon and Roman systems of measurement, eggs were sold by the dozen.
It made sense to sell them that way because one egg could be sold for a penny or 12 for a shilling, which was equal to 12 pennies.
(Old system of British currency/coinage - L.S.D. = Pounds Shillings and Pence)

And then came ... 'A Bakers dozen' (13)
    Why 13 is considered a baker's dozen?
In 13th century England, a law was enacted which prevented bakers from cheating customers and selling light loaves of bread.
To prevent themselves from getting in trouble with the law, bakers would give an extra loaf for every dozen purchased to make up for any potential shortfall

Golf balls tend to have 336 dimples.

When you're on the golf course, you're probably paying more attention to what club you're using than the details of each golf ball. But if you did take notice of the specifics, you might discover that your golf balls can have anywhere between 300 and 500 "dimples," though most tend to have 336. According to the Department of Physics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, "golf balls are usually covered with dimples in a highly symmetrical way," which "is important or the ball will wobble."

Montpelier, Vermont, is the only U.S. capital without a McDonald's.

In many cities, you can pick up a Quarter Pounder or some McNuggets on every other block. However, it's not as easy for residents of Montpelier, Vermont, to get a Big Mac. That's because it's the only U.S. state capital that doesn't have a McDonald's. As the smallest state capital in terms of population (approximately 7,500), the city doesn't have a Burger King, either. Sorry, Whopper lovers! To enjoy a meal from either fast-food chain, Montpelier residents can simply head over to the neighboring city of Barre.

    Why is it unlucky??
Researchers estimate that at least 10 percent of the U.S. population has a fear of the number 13, and each year the even more specific fear of Friday the 13th, known as paraskevidekatriaphobia, results in financial losses in excess of $800 million annually, as people avoid marrying, traveling or in the most severe cases, even working. But what’s so unlucky about the number 13, and how did this numerical superstition get started?

What’s So Unlucky About the Number 13?

A frigate bird can sleep while it flies.
Birds can do some pretty amazing things. For example, frigate birds can sleep while flying. That's because they can snooze while using only one hemisphere of the brain at a time, according to a 2016 study published in the journal Nature Communications.
