Some apps probably exist only to entertain you, mindlessly. Perhaps they also collect valuable information from your phone, but that's another issue... I'd like to hear about the most useless apps you know of on smart phones that actually make you feel stupid. My first nomination is the new IPhone app - Galactic Compass. If you were Captain Kirk or Picard on board the Star Trek Enterprise you might find it handy, but of course Spock or Data the android would instantly tell you the answer... The question being, 'which direction is the Galactic Center from us on Earth?" To use this app, place your phone on a flat surface and load it. A big green arrow points the way.
