A piece of chalk for a quick game of hopscotch.

A hipflask for a quick sip of adult scotch.

A harmonica fits in a pocket! BBAD! :D

Since I work at McD's, I get LOTS of use from my pants pockets...left side - small nail clippers, 10 to 15 Soft Peppermint Puffs and my phone; right side - little thing (plastic) of kleenex and car keys.

Sometimes change in that right side.

:2thumbsup: for good, deep pants pockets. :)

(I have safety pins pinned all along the bottom of my pants...to keep the hem up, since nothing short of safety pins or steel thread would keep a hem in these pants in place. lol)

Cell phone and credit card if I am not taking a bag with me. And keys.

I keep a lot of strange things in my cars like Kleenex, wet wipes.

I always have an extra key to my apartment so I am never locked out by accident. Also always have plastic bags to pick up dog poop.

Keys and wallet are essentials, not random items that may come in handy..

When I worked on machines I wore coveralls so I had a ton of pocket space. I had a pocket pouch for tools that hung off my left pocket and it carried various screw drivers and small ratchet and a small hammer, then I had to carry a radio in my leg pocket and in other pockets, lots of other bits including some spare nuts, wing nuts and bolts in case I would drop something and it would roll away under other machines. Also pass keys to enter places that were locked to the rest of the workers, some places we had a number pad to enter, those shoulda been everywhere cos it was a hassle if you forgot your key at home or in your locker in the shop.
I also carried nail clippers to cut zip ties, because we used them like some people use duct tape, and a nail file to smooth off edges and scrape stuff off in tracks and other bits of the machines. A tiny plastic nail brush and a small tube of hand cleaner and some medical gloves. Some places it was best to have a pair before you poke your hands somewhere dark.
After all that my left ass pocket carried a water bottle quite nicely.

I don't ever carry anything in my pockets, btw. It's really annoying to do so. I do carry things in my purse though.

I don't like carrying very many things in my pockets besides money but I do try to carry a guitar pick.
