WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said on Monday that the evidence of a massive deadly chemical attack last week was "undeniable" and accused the Syrian government of trying to cover it up, signalling the United States was edging closer to a possible military response.

In the most forceful U.S. reaction yet after Wednesday's suspected gas attack outside Damascus, Kerry said President Barack Obama "believes there must be accountability for those who would use the world's most heinous weapons against the world's most vulnerable people."

Kerry spoke after U.N. chemical weapons experts interviewed and took blood samples on Monday from victims of last week's apparent chemical attack in a rebel-held suburb of Syria's capital, after the inspectors themselves survived sniper fire that hit their convoy.

"What we saw in Syria last week should shock the conscience of the world," Kerry told reporters. "Let me be clear: The indiscriminate slaughter of civilians, the killing of women and children and innocent bystanders by chemical weapons is a moral obscenity."

After a full day of very democratic debate,in which a wide variety of views were shared, the British House of Commons has voted that our military will not to be a part of any Western led intervention against the Syrian authorities.

The chemical weapons were used by the Al Queda affiliated "rebels", this is a false flag just like the Gulf of Tonkin.

John B Wells reported that the Syrian locals said the chem attack came from the rebels. The rebels said that a Saudi man had given it to them and they didn't know the type the weapons were. They had an accident and 12 rebels died while handling the stuff.

Let us not forget that on the occasion of being questioned on the idea of Iraq having WMDs former Vice President Cheney replied "We know they have them, we have the receipts." When none were found in Iraq it was said they were sent to Syria ahead of our arrival. Check the receipts!

I don't believe it. Those liver-eaters are Al Qaeda affiliates. Our government makes "regime" changes based on will. He's pushing onto Congress- but it's still not Right to support one group of militants. We are building our enemies, just like Bengahzi-- these people will hate us in a year for our intervention!

Why should the west get involved? Things seem to be going along well without us. Let "them" figure it out. LOL. Sorry, when warring moslem tribes cant get along ; the west does not have a "dog" in the fight. LOL.

I never expected you to believe it. It, after all, doesn't fit with the narrative you've established.

Actually it doesn't fit our government's narrative, nor the war games they play. Syria is not even in a "civil war" anymore. 70% of people in Syria, support Assad according to NATO. The "rebels" are outside Al Qaeda groups who are highly financed by someone. Assad had no reason to attack his people, he has support.

Also, I find it funny how you support the Constitution, until we talk about foreign policy, and it changes instantly! They are no treat to us, and Israel needs to be a big boy, and fend for themselves!! (and stop killing innocents for pointless regional BS)

Ummm, that still makes it a civil war, Stp. Where did you get that 70% figure? Euronews.net again?

    How has it changed?

People realized the so-called "rebels" were Gihadist, and they support Assad more than the Jihadist. And no, it was from NATO. The so-called "civil war" was taken advantage of, by the international community. Plus, watch those interviews of Syrians, they all say "everything's fine here;" Even people who don't support Assad don't want American intervention cause WE kill civilians. With 1 million dead in iraq, of course they don't want us to "Liberate" them. They are a fairly advanced country, and don't need the long broken arm of government to forcibly change their way of life.
