oooh ok, 27 posts. Nice. But does any of them say anything remotely helpful? And rather than focusing your attention on the THREAD, it seems as though you've decided to hoam in on me and nitpick at me like a little troll.
No country, will make you free. Only you will make you free. However, i'm fortunate to live in one where i don't really have to DIE for shooting off my mouth maybe just rot in prison for putting drugs in my mouth
I can't believe people complain about loss of freedom and support a regulated economy in the same breath. In a regulated economy you have no freedom. Economically, you are set in place and cannot move, up or down. You are actually kept from improving your situation, using the logic that your doing so will make someone else's worse. I don't know about you, but I'd prefer to have control of money and resources in private hands. This is where freedom comes from. The ability of anyone to get in on a market. If someone else is abusing it, a competitor can come and offer a fair deal, and they will get the business instead. If it's all government-controlled, what happens then? I think you know.
Hey,no one should put down the US.The US is number 1.It is now the number 1 "Corporate Dictatorship" in the world. And also treats it's rich better than any other democracy!Of course if you are not rich well..........................................
On a positive note,I do agree that the US is not the same country it was up till the late 1970s.The US "used" to rock.
USA today is very similar to Nazi Germany. Staunch blind nationalism, war, murder, death and idiocy. "It is un-American to criticize the government" even though they are a bunch of nazi nutters.
Saying the US is like Nazi Germany is absurd. It's really not as bad as all that. It's not the greatest place in the world to live (that's Canada, or maybe Sweden), and it's definitely not a nice place to be poor in... but on the other hand, it IS possible to go far if you have a whole lot of drive, determination, ability, talent, intelligence, etc. The problem is that a lot of Americans nowadays have this awful wretched sense of entitlement that makes them whine about not having things and at the same time prevents them from working hard in order to get them. There are good things about America: free speech, multiculturalism, a relatively liberal media, concerns about racism, a growing sensitivity to all walks of life, tolerance and assistance for the disabled, democratic elections, a highly influential culture, cosmopolitan cities, and some really fantastic nature which is still somewhat intact. No country is perfect... and it's easy to sit and whine about how horrible your home country is when you've not experienced, I mean REALLY experienced life in another country... and I don't mean a week travelling around the touristy parts of Europe, I mean a year in some godawful third world country with no regulations on its industries, or even a complete lack of industries, or war torn streets, or absolute military rule, or people living in towns that resemble garbage dumps. Most Americans, even though they still bitch about their lives, are among the richest people on the entire planet... and even if some of you think that you would easily give it all up that's much easier said than done. There are way crappier places to live, and there the people aren't allowed to go on the internet and brag about being drug dealers or potheads or talk about how to make LSD or ridicule the president, unless they want to be taken away and shot. In North Korea, people are brainwashed from the day they are born into thinking the subway in their capital city actually goes to paradise but if you try to get in you will die, and that their leader is basically God himself. The American education system is pretty shit in some areas but it's not like it's a giant propaganda machine like it is elsewhere, and students are at least allowed free time to grow and learn how to think for themselves. They can start rock bands and take an active interest in their nations political and social climate, and learn about the world on the Internet... whereas the kids in Asia have to stay and clean the school before they're shipped off to a private school where they stay until they have to go home and go to sleep... and they STILL think their country is the best place in the world. Honestly people, stop whining. You can stand up for your rights, but don't shit on your country... it's also what's responsible for all of the freedoms and privileges you already have... in fact, it's responsible for their even being perceived as rights... in other countries, those things are just daydreams best kept to one's self.
From my blog, To my fellow Americans, You stand accused of being poor citizens. I, as a good citizen, accuse you. Not all of you, but certainly most of you. I accuse you of not being informed enough to make intelligent decisions regarding the direction of the United States. This is your fault. You're lazy when it comes to fact finding. Quite frankly, you don't care enough to. Instead, you would rather depend on the regular media to "inform" you of whats going on in the world and then you go vote accordingly. Jeezus. The regular media in the USA is just a tool for propaganda anymore. It can't be trusted. But because you're lazy, you don't know the difference. Western propaganda is well polished and gleams like gold. It's the best on earth. Democracies, such as we have here, are only as good as the people we put in office to represent us. Most of you didn't pay enough attention to this fact during the last couple of presidentual elections. Now look at the mess we're in. This is YOUR fault. Not Osama's. Not Saddam's. Not even George Bush's. YOUR fault. Now the question is, how do we clean up the mess we've made? First order of business is to unplug the neocons and their zionist pimps from power in Washington. Good luck with this. I don't see it happening. Instead, you'll just vote for the "other" politcal party we have to choose from and hope things improve. Well, I'm here to tell you it won't. Take Hillary Clinton for example. She has a pretty good shot at the Whitehouse right now. Raised huge sums of money too. The dark side of Ms Clinton is she is a strong AIPAC supporter and closet neocon. That means she will continue with current policies in the Middle East. So much for change. My fellow citizens, you better wake up. You no longer control this government. You no longer can. You think that the people who do, are going to allow you to change anything? The federal level of government is controlled by corporations, military "advisors", and Israeli sympathetic zionists. These people are dangerous as hell, and you let them in. YOU. Our nation has been hijacked by these criminals. But just roll over and go back to sleep. Sorry to have bothered you. Someone will come around later and wake you when you're needed to vote again. Sweet dreams. The nightmares begin soon. x
I've been reading both this and the USA Sucks thread, and I have the answer: FIX THE GODDAMN COUNTRY!!!! We have the power to vote whoever we want into office. We have the power to vote out the people who are abusing their power. We have the power to pass measures and laws to fix pretty much evewrything. The only problem is that a good chunk of america won't get off their asses and do anything. And don't give me that "it doesn't matter, they control everything" bullshit. WE HAVE THE POWER. We only let the idiots and sleazebags run everything because most of us either don't bother or don't care. Get people to care. Don't choke them with harassment, but point them in the right direction and let them find their own way. But we can fix this country.
it's my home. i love my home. so it needs some yardwork, carpentry and paint. better than just selling it and running away, the property value and neighborhood alone are worth the effort.
Sometimes dryrot makes the decision for you whether or not to knock things down and start over. When you push on the sparkling fascade of the US, you push right through into the rot. Unfortunately for us, it's the very foundation thats bad. The house thats built on it has to come down. We'll salvage what we can from the pile. The rest needs to be burnt. x
Ya ever notice, when someone in the media or whatever says the US is the best country in the world, they always compare the US 'against a third world country, like Haiti,or some backwards nation in Africa etc. They never compare the US to a country in Western Europe like Denmark being one example of many.Again the US "used" to be a great country, but things have changed.
I honestly can't believe that some people think there should be a revolution. It's sooooooo easy to criticize and then not have an answer... and even easier to think up (or just appropriate) the most basic metaphors you can think of and then try to pass your opinions off as wisdom... So if everyone were to revolt and start smashing things and demanding radical change, exactly what kind of group do you think should seize power and start running the country? Fascists? Communists? Do you honestly think that the war would end if someone else were to seize power? How many times have countries gone through revolutions and then ended up better than when they started? What we need is to find a way to open a channel of communication with our 'enemies', and then work out a way for a peaceful solution... somehow, we've got to find a way to help the country get back on its feet and stay stable... and the way to do it isn't to fight, but to communicate and work out a compromise. Unfortunately, neither side believes in opening up a dialogue... at least, not at this stage.
When you create a Frankenstein's monster and it gets out of the lab, you're still responsible for whatever it tears up in the world. We, the American people, created this monster. It threw us up against the wall and broke away from us. Now it's a menace, and it demands action. Either we the people slay the beast, or the world will become afraid of us. Should that happen, they will be forced to do what we ourselves chose not to. x
Honestly...anything better then Democracy is best...becuase we seem to get a rotten president every time we vote.. There are always gonna be groups of people who want change, and want to speak their minds. Im no communist, but if there was a revolution of any sort, i will definalty do my part to help
America is like a box of chocolates. When you stand in the rain, you're going to get wet. If a man sits alone in a room with all the lights off, he's not going to be able to see anything... and if he comes out of the room, and he looks exactly like Al Gore... he's probably going to be mistaken for Al Gore. Therefore, I am a genius.
What frightens me is I see the similarities between america's current state, the fall of the roman empire, and germany shortly before the rise of the nazi state.
