I think that you are being irrational, and you are having a hard time engaging in civil debate

You've quoted me, but you don't seem to have read what I said before criticizing.

    Let me be specific.

    http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showpost.php?p=7417450&postcount=58

    I said
    and

    to which you replied:

Which, if one assumes that you actually read what I said and are coherent, indicates that

    A. You don't believe in the existence of morbid obesity

    and

    B. You simultaneously believe that fat people should be hated

I've defended obese people on a number of occasions on this thread. You have no cause to casually throw out accusations of bigotry. If there is something which a said which demonstrated hatred of fat people, please note what I said specifically.

You seem to be making characterizations about what I've said without any foundation.

    Me!? Little old me!?

Meh, every one of HWs posts reads like that to me now. He's either trolling or terminally unpleasant, I really don't care which.

But there's a difference between holding something against someone for being mean and obnoxious all the time, and insulting someone for being overweight.

    BoR would you agree;

With a healthy lifestyle a person will be healthy at whatever weight is normal for them within that lifestyle.

I would say so, yes. The studies support that. Active + consumption of a good diet = healthy, whether you're 100 pounds or 250.

So, it's not healthy at ANY size for any one individual, as such. If they're in an unhealthy lifestyle, their weight may be unhealthy for them personally, even if they can be healthy at a technically overweight weight. Does this sound right?

Yep. It's about how you live, in the end.

    In a related news story.........

Oregon authorities are investigating how a farmer was eaten by his hogs.

Terry Vance Garner, 69, never returned after he set out to feed his animals last Wednesday on his farm near the Oregon coast, the Coos County district attorney said Monday.

A family member found Garner's dentures and pieces of his body in the hog enclosure several hours later, but most of his remains had been consumed, District Attorney Paul Frasier said. Several of the hogs weighed 700 pounds or more.

It's possible Garner had a medical emergency, such as a heart attack, or was knocked over by the animals, then killed and eaten, Frasier said, adding that at least one hog had previously bitten Garner.

The possibility of foul play is being investigated as well.

"For all we know, it was a horrific accident, but it's so doggone weird that we have to look at all possibilities," Frasier told The Register-Guard.

Just because the lawyer is a fitness freak he doesn't have the right to bully people and call them down to his level. I really have to wonder what kind of a lawyer this guy is because he sure doesn't understand humankind. He doesn't seem to be aware of the fact that we are all different and that some of us have underlying problems affect the way that we appear to others.

It's called an invisible illness and it is hard to explain to someone who has no clue. It's a daily struggle being in pain or feeling sick on the inside while you look fine on the outside. I'm sure everyone knows someone who has an invisible illness (Crohn's, PTSD, Anxiety, Bipolar, Depression, Diabetes, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, MS, ME, Arthritis, Cancer, HEART DISEASE, EPILEPSY, Autism,M.D., Histiocytosis etc.) " Never judge what you don't understand" is a good rule to live by.

springfling, it turned out this guy isn't a lawyer - he is a security guard.
To be fair to him, he has apolgised.

I don't think he thought his email would end up circulating the globe, and for such a strong reaction to occur.
He is almost being treated as if he is Osama Bin Laden - which probably is unfair to him, to put it mildly.

"Never judge what you don't understand" is a good rule to live by."

I think he has learnt that lesson.
Infact, I think he probably repeats that to himself every morning, while he he is eating his dinner, and then again just before he goes to bed.
