Yep, I'm back with my wacky digestive issues.

I've developed a new quirk that causes gas pains in my upper right abdomen. The pains are under my ribs and sometimes go through to my back.

I'm keeping a diary of what I eat and what causes the pain.

So far it looks like it may be butter, mostly; but this morning it seems to be grapes. I ate a hard boiled egg which usually doesn't hurt me but I ate grapes also.

    Ouch.

Does anybody else have this upper abdominal pain?

    Get thee to a sawbones,Aeri!

Might you have a hernia? I had terrible pains nowhere near the hernia site when it broke through. Thought I was having a heart attack.

I have a very sensitive stomach, and sometimes get abdominal pain. You are smart to keep a diary of what you eat and how it makes you feel, so you can eliminate the foods that cause you discomfort. I hope you feel better soon.

I've had the gas pressure right in the center of my chest for several hours and it would have concerned me if I hadn't been having the upper right pains alot in prior days.

I took a flaxseed oil capsule and a gas x type tablet and the pain's gone today.

Now, it's just the trial and error with diet and the list keeping to figure it out.

Good. I hope it's just a food allergy.

I think it probably is, Scratch.

I've done wonky things like have bad hives from food allergies. I'd eaten the food my whole life and then became very sensitive to some of them for months. Now, it's resolved and I can have those foods again.

Sounds a lot like gallbladder inflammation there, Aerieanne. Try a gallbladder diet, see if the pain stays away.

If you eat fruit, you should not combine it with a protein food. It's okay to eat the fruit, but because it digests in fifteen to twenty minutes, you should eat it alone and wait twenty minutes or so before eating something like eggs. If you eat fruit with eggs, you will delay the digestion of the fruit, and it will ferment in your stomach and cause gas.

I really don't buy grapes but my grandson was with me so I did.

I'll just feed those to the kids and stay away from them.

I have the IBS and certain trigger foods can cause uncomfort.

Usually rich sauces or sometimes dairy. I was tested for a whole bunch of digestive disorders and diseases but nothing came back and the quack just told me to log what it is that causes the pain.

I have found though, that having a cup of Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar morning and night to be of the utmost help to my stomach. :)

I used to wake from sleep every day with stomach pains until I went to the toilet, I barely get that anymore since taking the vi what regularly.

I first got into the vinegar because the health benefits were exact what I needed from it and so far. So good. :)

Hi Aerianne, I'm so sorry that you are not feeling too good. Keeping a food diary is probably the best thing you can do. But I was told by a GP that flaxseed can perpetuate gas/wind, hope that isn't making it worse?

I have family with Chrohns too, so difficult to diagnose, but is certainly on the increase. Perhaps query this with your doc so you can rule it out? :) Hopefully you will feel better soon.

I read about that being good for these symptoms and took 2 tablespoons one day chased with apple juice. That stuff is strong! How do you take yours?

I just read that it can help when you eat fats and just started taking it. I'll keep that under consideration.

For the record, you are supposed to dilute ACV in water before drinking it. Never drink it straight unless you want to ruin your teeth.

I started with about 20ml a serving. That's a little strong from what I read when people take a teaspoon or 10ml but I had sore tummy so I went all out.

20ml with luke warm tap water. Small glass, like a spirit and coke at the pub. One gulp. Throw it down.

One motion, like a bandaid.. RIGHT OFF!

You'll get the burn in the tummy. It's not nice for about 5 or so minutes. I found that that a slightly warmer water is a lot smoother than cold water and I also read that adding a little lemon juice, which has its own digestion advantages, to be helpful too. But that too creates a different burning sensation.

Or, you can straight out shot glass the stuff. :D

But I do know that there's a specific type of vinegar you need. For instance cooking apple cider is pointless, you need the one with the "mother" ingredient. Raw and unfiltered. I learned all that from r0llinstoned.

    :)

The ideal thing would be to see the doctor about this. Any reason not to?
