I don't give a fuck if their stories are true or not, what part of this is hard to understand?

What he may or may not have done with them, is totally irrelevant to wikileaks and the info they have been releasing.

You have the right to say what you want, even make jokes that I consider inappropriate... JUST AS I HAVE THE RIGHT TO SPEAK OUT AGAINST THEM.

As for the rest of your post... If you are invested into the system in such a way that you are going to lose your investment when things go belly up...

    GOOD

In fact... thats fucking GREAT. Perhaps next time, you will consider more carefully how you invest your time and money.

More then anything, what it comes down to for me is a simple question.

How would I feel if I were in his position?

And I have to tell you, from that point of view, I am not feeling all that great...

Then to have people who should know better make jokes out of this issue?

    FUCK THAT.

This is starting to look like the beginning of a WORLDWIDE revolution...

Europe is seething today, with people marching and rioting in the streets, really pissed off at their governments. Reminds me of the Long Hot Summer, yet it's a cold wintry day in Europe...

And now hackers and activists have found a cause to unite behind. A cause that affects us all.

Let's hope this is the beginning of a new day, one where the people wrest control of their country and their lives from the Oligarchs who've exploited them for personal profit.

And those institutions and companies that stand in the way, may they be stomped upon and relegated to the trash heap of history...

So, because of his role in Wikileaks, it wouldn't matter if he were to sexually assault people? What about if it were rape? How about murder?

And you said his life is being destroyed by bullshit, but you just said that you don't care if the claims are true or not -- how does that one work out?
Are all sexual assault cases bullshit? Or only ones against star journalists/publishers?

Are you trying to win a darwin award?

I don't give a fuck if their stories are true in regards to how I feel about wikileaks, or what assange is doing with the information he has.

This is the problem with people... They let themselves be distracted from the issues that effect us all, over things that have nothing to do with the issues...

To be clear, so that you don't have to break a habit and actually think...

Rape is not good, and if he did rape them, he deserves to go to jail for it...

IT STILL HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WIKILEAKS OR HIM RELEASING INFORMATION.

Using humor to deflect bad times is a good thing, yes. But not when it is adding fuel to the fire that is causing those bad times.

But then why do you defend him, when the sexual charges are why he was arrested, and are clearly debatable?

I am all for the Anonymous attacks, but what I was responding to was your suggestion that his life is being destroyed by bullshit. It seems, especially with his current legal trouble, he has brought on all that has happened. And that it is the court's job to determine just how true or bullshit those claims are.

And as far as a Darwin award, I really doubt I will kill myself or otherwise limit my ability to procreate by arguing with you :)

Not to single you out but,
Break downs come and breakdowns go, what are you going to do about it, that's what i would like to know.

This is not new information that governments lie to their populations, remember pentagon papers. So for 40 years I have been hearing the same cry of indignation. If is is important to anyone to be free, then get free. Frankly the "oppressed" in the US are more concerned with comfort than freedom.

I bet the US and other gov't are really starting to worry now. Esp. since the Multinationals are being hit on the web. Keep going after Julian cause this is going to BACKFIRE on them big time.

This is THE CAUSE we've needed, with a martyr, to unite web activists around the world.

So long as Julian Assange is being held captive by the Oligarchs, more and more people will join to fight these governments and their corporate masters.

I can see attacks on individual companies and gov't agencies continuing and getting worse. And as these attacks affect ordinary citizens they will finally become aware of the situation and feel insecure about doing business with certain companies who've been targeted.

I've always felt the best way to change corporate behavior is to single them out one at a time and make examples out of them. Exactly what Anonymous is doing right now.

Funny how these companies like Mastercard and Visa fall in line with the government's propaganda. Considering that Wikileaks and Julian Assange have not been formally charged with breaking any US laws yet, it seems these companies have jumped the gun and banned payments to wikileaks prematurely based on nothing more than an "opinion" of the US gov't.

I could have swore I already posted this, but whatever... I can do this repeatedly....

The third time I have to answer the same question, I lose all patience for people's stupidity and start talking to them in short simple sentences...

Seems I can't really make my answers and shorter or simpler though, you will just have to wallow in your bullshit alone...

To process this I need to rid myself of the presumption that I live among people who do not deserve some sort of repercussion to some extent- even myself and examining the decisions I have made and the motivations behind them- I need to assume some responsibility.

The fact is that I own 30-odd years of culpability myself for failure to engage properly the information and critically processing the data around me to put myself in a position to weather what seems to be increasingly inevitable. We've (Americans, anyway) allowed ourselves to be distracted by a way of life that prizes wasteful consumerism and a social structure that judges people on what they have and NOT who they are.

We're all guilty. People will insist on characterizing the problem as being created by the evil elites but we all had a hand in enabling it- to willfully pull the wool over our own eyes over a decades long period to allow such an accumulation of concealed corruption... illegal wars- foreign policy at the behest of corporations but sold to a gullible public as securing freedom of a "noble" people for whom there is no real compassion- but whose real plight is exploited as justification... and as a whole we bought it.

So- what is worse... WikiLeaks info falling into the wrong hands or standing idly by as spectators while the Oligarch's schemes continue to rob us of the ability to support and feed ourselves- let alone provide for the future when time has robbed us of the ability to support ourselves... as well as having some sense of security without intrusive measures and restrictions placed in response to demands for action against problems that exist in no small part because we collectively chose not to pay any attention when times were "better"

It IS a big joke... and the elites are the only ones who should be laughing

    ...at our expense.

...and don't underestimate the possibility that this could precipitate restrictive policies on web content and a further abridging of our so-called freedom of speech as well as right to know.... that is a certainty if this threatens multinationals as we hope.

Enjoy your ability to participate here while you still have it.

I'd put money on this being right on if nothing comes from the people about this.

In otherwords, if we (the people) don't win this battle... kiss your freedoms goodbye.
