That's very unfortunate! There's a lot of beauty to be seen canoeing the rivers, but there's also whitewater areas that can be dangerous. A great way to take in the beauty of Northern MN is to canoe the BWCA. Nature and beauty abound there.
Depending on air temps and amount of precipitation we get, it'll be early to mid May before the lawns really green up. It'll be June before lawns thicken up. The trees are starting to bud now, but it'll be mid to late May before they get full with leaves. We are not out of the woods yet for potential snow storms either. We often get a 6" to 10" snowfall in April and when that happens, greening up slows.
Been there, done that….living on the Pacific Coast, I’ve come to believe that snow is something to drive to. Just missed the Portland event…first measurable snow in April since records began!
My gal is from Bakersfield, CA. Her first year here she was thrilled to see snow. 62" of snow by the end of winter changed that thought process!
My dad's is the black one. Mine is the red one. The blue boat is a spare. Then the waterfowl hunting boat. Then the side by side for deer hunting & ice fishing. The back corner is my ice fishing gear. And then my dad loves his wood working tools, plus at the front of his boat is our log splitter. All stored in our 40ft x 60ft storage garage with concrete in-floor heat. Can use it any time of year, even in -40F temps!
And occasionally in my spare time I will find new spots to try next. This is my hand-held GPS/mapping unit I keep at home. I'll find new spots to try on this, then transfer them to my boat electronics at a later time. Then when I go fishing, I'll idle around these spots looking for fish on my locator. I won't even wet a line until I see enough fish to give it a try.
