Something I find really annoying, that seems to have come to Britain from America is all this voucher shit. You know, you go to a restaurant and half the people are producing half price vouchers. Or are surfing on their smartphones. I mean, what a load of hassle. Why cant they give everyone the same rate for the same meal?
Capitalism isn't based around spoon feeding sweet-heart. If you're never gonna see em again, skip on tipping... it's logical!
wtf are you talking about...spoon feeding? have you ever worked for tips? those people make like 2 bucks an hour. you're basically stealing from somebody's check when you don't tip because they work for you for free. not tipping is a dipshit asshole move. if you're too cheap to tip, you have no reason to be eating out in the first place.
That's not true, I believed it first time too. I once worked for 'like' $11/hr plus tips... easiest job ever. Most waiters earn about $8 an hour plus a huge amount tips. So much tips, that they'd be getting what somebody who put themselves through college would be getting. With American greed, people rush towards these easy jobs, instead of providing an actual service for the country. And therefore we see more money transfer, as opposed to actual money being earned and hence the dollar continues to weaken! In that case, the employer is the one that's stealing, and I won't play ball with that You cannot dictate where someone eats. You sound like a bimbo who doesn't have the ability to question the culture you live in. People only tip because it's awkward not to.. or else to show off... NOT because they feel sorry for the waiter
don't spend it! especially don't spend it on crap you don't really really want and enjoy, or absolutely can't get away with not having. the less you spend on any extravigance you don't derive gratification from, the more you have to spend on those things which you do. that's pretty much the bottem line on spending and saving. take a long hard look at all of the things you normally spend on all the time, especially things you don't normally think about, and rate them on how much gratification they give you, and/or how much the rest of society would let you get away with not having. what i save not owning a car or a television, i get to spend on computers and model trains. likewise what i don't spend for more expensive clothes that what it takes to legal cover my ass, i can spend on art supplies, or bus passes, or what have you. think of it not as sacrafice, but as what you gain by the tradeoff. also, of course this might not be popular here, but avoid addictions to anything, unless the supply is completely free. (unless they really really are, a source of gratification, like my hobbies)
I said unique advice! It is what I sort of expected however!! Who's to say you don't get gratification from it. Appearance for example might be considered exravigance by many, but some would say it's one of the most important traits that define someone. So it's therefore very hard to know whether buying cheaper clothes(for example) is actually for the best over-all.
Not necessarily... it's good to be flexible and spontaneous. Last year I bought a lovely kashmir sweater which was out of my price range(on my salary). If that was the case, I'd never get to buy clothes I like, and would therefore never get to enjoy myself. I ended up getting lots of complements from ladies about my sweater! They assumed I was rich.
So your suggestion for ways to save money is to say "fuck it" and buy whatever you want so that women think that you're rich?
no it was dont tip so you can afford that sweater thats out of your price range so the women think your rich. anyway if you go to the same place tipping can save you money, if you tip well you will get better portions and extras for free if you have the reputation of being a good tipper. of course if your looking to really save money you are better not going to a place that a tip is expected.
Now I know why Americans are fat. Who really needs refils!! Definitely not worth the price of a HIGHER than average tip!!
i have no idea what "it" you are assuming. whatever you DO get real gratification from, that is what to avoid spending ON ANYTHING ELSE in order to be able to. yes i don't claim that to be unique, merely effective. if you're looking for easier ways to lie to yourself, sorry, i can't help you there. what anyone else might consider isn't my point. what gratifies YOU is what to save to spend it on. just don't forget to take a really long hard honest look, at what personally DOES gratify you, and what does not. you'll never persue happiness effectively, by taking popular assumptions as holy writ.
