instead of talking loadsa bollocks can you please answer the question i asked you ?...........just incase you never grasped it the first time" i will repeat it in capital letters ..........SO WHAT MAKES YOU PROUD TO BE ENGLISH BUT NOT BRITISH ?
um, paul ... saw these guys posting in other forums and they seem like trolls really not honest people trying to comment
they've destroyed the country anyway, arguing about the flag needs to be put into perspective - it is an academic exercise.
i thought brits identified themselves as being from britain ( maybe i"m missing something ) i think people choose indvidually who they wanna be identified as like i identify meself as a earthling from earthland who is in scouseland instead of england( but thats just me )
at the end of the day alo of people divide themselves because of accents (which is sad ) were all human man aer:uhoh2:nt we .
Nah, British is anyone from Britain, I'm British as Cornwall is a part of Britain, but I'm still Cornish despite that...the same way the English are British...as England is a part of Britain.
Crosses my mind that new citizans would find it easier to feel membership of a multi-faceted state. British rather than English.
Of course you are entirely wrong about it being only the english and scottish flag http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Union_Jack irelands flag plays its part too - the reason they didnt include the welsh flag is because I believe (at least this is what my mom once told me) that the welsh were considered to have offended the monarch and therefore were not celebrated on the flag - how true that is I dont know - but the flag was meant to celebrate union and it had something to do with the welsh defying the authorities by not speaking english I am English but bought a house in Aberystwyth and lived there 5 years and found wales to be a very excellent country with a fantastic artistic and creative culture I went to many raves around Talybont - I loved the mines around north wales and the absolute loneliness of its mountains. I was accepted by the welsh as a friend and made a great effort to accept the culture and learn from it and to not be some arrogant englisher with stereotypical ideas about the welsh - within a short time I even got invited to "lockins " at the local pub and it was a great community. I didnt want to return to England but circumstances got in the way. Those 5 years of roaming arount the hills and mountains, making friend in aber, and surrounding villages were the best 5 years I ever had. I always said wales is the best kept secret in the british isles. Compared to wales, england is nothing but a polluted factory landscape - and a political sewer. Wales is a young vibrant culture where community counts and the beauty of the place is appreciated. I loved wales but economics forced me out - I couldnt get the work I wanted there I will go back there one day I believe it was best wales didnt have its emblem on that flag - the union jack was a mere slur on the integrity of the british anyway, the vast majority of whom considered the flag a trivial but all too evident symbol of Englands arrogance burn the fucking thing for all I care - all it means to me is some rich snob in a palace and their parliament is our master and we are its slaves -
Did you manage to learn some of the language, Sentient? I won't hold it against you if you don't. Surprised you got accepted into the community, most Northerner's won't even accept the Southerner's, let alone an English.
haha, such snobbery! I know some Welsh, my grandfather is half welsh/ irish. I don't know how to spell anything though. A kide a gig!
