I tell ya,I have been very grateful to get all the beautiful analog media I have been able to get FOR ALMOST NOTHING!! (I feel guilty paying so little for it!!!!) I consider analog media to be BETTER than anything else so when i goto Salvation Army, etc and pay 50 cents for a VHS movie or 99 cents for a record,I DO FEEL LIKE I AM STEALING IT!!!!!! (I value this stuff MUCH HIGHER than most) This is something thats important to me,i dont like thinking i am stealing ANYTHING!! There is a record store about 10 miles from me (MAINSTREAM RECORD STORE) and they charge more reg prices for records/tapes (I got Pink Floyds 'Dark Side of the moon' for $15 there a few months ago) and another place that sells records AS A SIDE INCOME charges $3 a record but @ least its more than 99 cents -- THATS LIKE SAYING ITS NO GOOD! (Placing no value on it) Maybe they just wanna MOVE IT quickly,if so IM SURPRISED!!! (Most people want $$$$$ more than anything else)
I sold over 400 albums a few years back at the Atomic Warehouse. The dude was impressed with the selection. I had already digitized them. Still have a few laying around that I need to copy.
The album I most noticed this with is Rust in Peace - Megadeth. On the digital version his voice stands out and is a lot more clearer, which is not what the band is known for, speed metal guitar band, Analogue version is way better. I'm not really one for the argument, cant tell the diff between digital and analogue, But some bands it does stick out. On the other hand remastered digitized versions of Elvis and Nina Simone sound better cos you can hear their voice more clearly. I think any band where its more about the instruments than the singing, digital is bad. But the other way around, the opposite is true Oh and as for visual media, Star Wars does look better the VHS way, the digital version the effects really stick out and look faker.
